The new year has just began after fireworks lit up the sky.
If you are like me and many other people out there,they have laid out their plans for the new year.
This could be in the form of the goals that they have set out to achieve this year.
It could be getting out of debt, getting married, stop smoking and many others to be lined up.
For my case,today i would like to share with you some self care habits that you can practice this year.
1.Take intentional breaks.
In our world, busyness is praised and lazyness is frowned upon.
This culture will most likely force most people to work their ass off until they reach a breaking point.
This might mean they end up depressed.
The only thing i advise you to do this year about this culture is to ignore it and instead intentionally give yourself a break.
This will help you to get back your sanity, your energy and give you enough rest before you resume work with good health.
2.Make realistic to do lists.
Yes, this year do not overload your day with many tasks that you will not be able to accomplish.
Instead of doing half baked work, it is better for you to choose the most important tasks of the day.
Work on these tasks until you complete them and leave the rest for the following day.
Choose at most three tasks that you can complete.
After you have completed the most important tasks you can then add on other tasks.
3. Have positive thoughts.
Sometimes life can prove to be difficult and this can force us to develop negative thoughts.
These negative thoughts can have adverse effects on our health, mood and also the people around us.
This year, i would urge you to have only positive thoughts.
When you are not in a good mood, switch on music you enjoy listening to. Soon your mood will change.
Or you can watch comedy shows on youtube to cheer you up.
4.Be electronics free in the mornings and evenings.
Our lives have been dominated by electronics,the phones are always buzzing.
This year you should ensure that you are electronics free in the mornings and evening.
Opening social media late in the evening or night will affect your sleep.Do yourself some favour and keep the phone away.
Do not watch movies on tv late in the night.
