Walukagga Shafik who is popularly known as Fik Fameica is a Ugandan
singer and songwriter who has been known for copying and pasting lyrics and
beats of songs from different music artists. Walukagga Shafik was born on 10th January 1996 in Kawempe division in Kampala.
He describes himself as a
versatile music artist who is able to sing on any music beats.
Walukagga
studied at Kawempe junior school and Dungu hill primary school for his primary
school education. Walukagga then joined Kawempe Royal College and Stennar Hill
School for his ordinary level of education where he completed his Olevel.
After
his ordinary level of education, he joined Kawempe Muslim School and Oxford
High school for his Advanced level of education.
Fik Fameica during interviews
said that he was expelled from different schools because he used to wear very
tight trousers.
After his Advanced level of education he decided to drop out of
school in order to concentrate on his music career.
According to Fik Fameica, he used to do hip
hop at school just because he was very passionate about it and he did not do it
for money but just for the love of it.
FikFameica got his musical break through
after recording his first song called “pistol” in 2015 which was actually just
a cover for a song that was done by a music artist called Festa Skunk and this
song became a hit that opened doors for him in the music industry.
The audio
version of this song was loved by very many people but unfortunately he did not
have enough money to shoot a music video for the song.
Then one day luck smiled
at him and he met one video director called Frank Jah who also loved the song
and he decided to give him the chance to shoot the video of the song.
He was
giving him an offer of shooting the video of the song at a price half compared
to what he usually charges to other music artists.
According to Fik Fameica who
is one of the most sought after music artists at the moment, success caught him
unaware and now he has managed to release very many other popular songs like
Kutama, Byenyenya, Kachima and most recently Sconto and very many other songs.
Fik Fameica says that he attributes his musical success to not only talent but
also favour.
According to to him, Talent alone is not enough and there are very
many people out there who are very talented but actually they do take long to
breakthrough.
According to him, his favourite female music artist is Irene
Ntale and he admires the likes of Wizkid and Migos who are Nigerian music
artists.
There have been rumours that Fik Fameica is dating television
presenter and socialite Sheila Gashumba but the Ugandan singer has denied these
claims by saying that women fear him at the moment.
He is one of the fast
rising music artists who are becoming very popular in Uganda and in turn also
inspiring very many other youths who aspire to become music titans in this
country.
Fik Fameica says that his main goal is to win the BET Award that was
once won by Ugandan music artist Eddy Kenzo.
