By Matata Mercy

A friend in need is a friend indeed. Do you have friends?

Or you just want to make more friends so that you can keep your social life more vibrant and interesting.

If you are serious about improving your social life, you will need to learn how to make friends.

Do you have the skills that can help you to make friends.

If not, today i will share with you some advice which is very vital for you to be able to make friends and build your social circle quickly.

One thing that you should know is that people love talking about themselves.

This is a secret that i learnt from a friend of mine called Francis while i was still at university.

I have always admired Francis because he was the kind of guy who lit up the room any time with his personality and charisma.

Whenever Francis was in a new place, he easily made friends with the people around him.

I always wondered how he managed to do it.

Then one evening, after classes, i asked him how he made friends effortlessly. He then told me the secret.

Before this secret was revealed to me, i had always struggled with making new friends and interacting with people i have just met.

Francis told me that since people love talking about themselves, i should ask these new people questions about themselves.

I should ask about their career, relationships, hobbies especially what they enjoy doing, their aspirations and hopes.

All this  is aimed at getting to know the person properly.

Some years i came across a brilliant book called How to make friends and influence people.

This book was written by a man called Dale Carnegie.

The book was emphasising the same principle or idea that can be used to make friends.

To apply this you will need to be a good listener.

Listen attentively and listen well so that you can ask the right questions.

All this will show the other person that you are selfless and that you care about other people.

This will make you trustworthy and someone who can make a good friend.👬
