Tanzanian President John Pombe Magufuli is dead according to reports from sources in Tanzania. This follows the speculation about his life and health.
According to a live television address given by the Vice President of Tanzania Samia Sulu Hassan, Magufuli died from heart complications after he was infected by the COVID-19.
He died on 17th of March on Wednesday at Dar es Salaam. Ugandan President Yoweri Museveni sent a condolence message to Tanzanian people.
Tanzanian officials had dismissed reports that Magufuli had contracted the deadly disease and that he was busy working.
