BIOGRAPHY AND INSPIRING STORY OF MAUREEN NANTUME, THE UGANDAN MUSIC ARTIST

 Maureen Nantume is a Ugandan female music artist, singer and songwriter who is popular in the Ugandan music industry and she was born on the 18th of April in the year 1984. 


Her mother was called Robinah Nakitende and she was a market vendor. Maureen Nantume had two siblings and her life became even harder when her mother died.

 According to her the death of her mother marked the end of the dreamed about the future especially education wise.

 When her mother died, her uncle promised to help her and her siblings but all those promises made were empty.

 Later on, she landed a job in a place called Namasuba as a housemaid where she was earning 15000 shillings per month. 

While doing work, she also harbored the dreams of becoming a singer and songwriter in the future. She later landed some gigs to perform as back up singer for various established music artists and also vocalist at one of Uganda's top music bands called Eagles Production. 

As she continued working with the band and performing in various parts of the country, Maureen Nantume became popular and her music began to pick up and get recognition. 

She completed her primary school but later dropped out of school in senior three due to lack of school fees. Maureen Nantume has since organized several music concerts in the country that have been massively attended and also won several other awards.
