LESSONS THAT I LEARNT FROM THE PANDEMIC

By Matata Mercy

The world has been going through a terrible period of time over the past few months. No one ever predicted that we would actually reach this stage or even have something as catastrophic as the Corona virus pandemic.

This pandemic has destroyed the economies of several countries world wide and has also killed thousands of people around the world.

This pandemic has dramatically changed the way that we live, people have lost jobs and many have been quarantined.

While in my quarantine and social distancing, there are some valuable lessons that learnt from this pandemic.

Today, i would like to share with you some of the valuable lessons that learnt from the pandemic that will help me live a better life now and also after the pandemic.

1. Life is very short

One hard lesson that i learnt from the pandemic is that the life that we are living is actually very short.

Many people out there are living life like as if they will live forever. They spend their valuable time and energy on the things that actually do not make sense or even matter.

They continue worrying about things that they cannot control and continue to live in fear of what might go wrong and therefore, they fail to take action.

The one thing that i have learnt from the pandemic is that life can be very fragile and also unpredictable.

Do not waste time waiting for the elusive time when you will have  enough money, the right support system and the economy or even perfect timing for you to be able to live your dreams.

The worst thing that can happen to a human being is to die with their dreams still in them. Stop waiting for the perfect time because it might never come.

Take charge of your life, live without regrets and live without fear simply because you deserve it.

2. Failure will happen

There is no way you can live a fulfilling life without encountering failure along the way. If you avoid failure, you will never succeed and you will end up failing by default.

You should not allow the fear of failure to stop you from going after your dreams. Do not allow the fear of failure to hold you hostage.

Failure is a part of life and it can help us discover somethings about us that we did not know. For example failure can help you find out how strong you are in the times of adversity.

It can also help us to encounter other opportunities that we would have missed if we were not willing to fail.

3. Start taking action today

The truth is that yesterday is gone and tomorrow is not guaranteed and therefore you need to use the time that you have right now and today.

Start focusing on what you can do today and stop worrying about what you should have done yesterday or even what you need to do tomorrow.

If you focus too much on what you should have done yesterday or what you want to do tomorrow, you will miss living today.

If you want to start a business, today is the best time and not tomorrow.

Start working on that business idea, today might not be the perfect time and you might not have enough resources to start right away, but just start and do simplest thing that you can at this moment in time.

If you wait for the right time, you might end up waiting for the rest of your life. What lessons have you learnt from the pandemic, share them here with us.
