BECOMING A TIME KEEPER

One important aspect of our lives that very many people out there underlook is keeping time.



 When we talk about the most important resource that we do have in our hands, of all the resources that the world can give to us be it money, social networks, and many other opportunities that are granted to us, time is the only resource that can never be recovered when it has been wasted. 

Each and every time, we are counting down to the end of our lives unknowingly. 

Prioritizing your time is important if you want to live a very good quality of life that you will be fulfilled and proud of living. What goals or dreams do you have in life? 

If you are a living human being and you have goals like starting your own business or writing a book or making films, then adopting the good habits of time keeping will go along the way to bringing your dreams and goals into reality. 

Today i will bring to you some aspects of time keeping that will help you along in achieving your goals and dreams.

1. Time logging

One behaviour that will help you along in keeping time is called time logging. Time logging involves recording each and every activity that you pursue and the time that you perform that activity. For example your time log would look like this.

1. Wake up early and brush your teeth at 5:00 am.

2. Go for a run at 6:30 am.

3. Take a shower at 7:30 am.

4. Take breakfast at 8:00am.

5. Write articles for your blog at 9:00 am.

6. Start guitar lessons at 10:00am.

7.Take lunch at 1:00 pm.

8. Work on the fashion project at 2:00 pm.

9. Go home at 5:00 pm.

This time log above shows the simple way in which you can be able to organize yourself and the time you have with the activities that you would love to get done in that particular day.

 Journaling the activities that you get involved in against the time at which you do those activities will keep you alert at keeping time. 

You will be able to notice the activities that take most of your time and you will be able to adjust accordingly.

2. Identify the most important activity of the day

One other thing that you can do to ensure that you utilize your time well is to identify the most important activity of the day that you would love to complete before the day comes to an end. 

If you are a blogger like me, you would ensure that you are able to write some articles before the day comes to an end. If you could do only one activity that day, it should actually be the most important activity that you want completed before the sun sets down on you.  

After you have identified the activity that you want to accomplish that particular day, you will need to allocate it a specific period of time and it should be first thing in the morning when you are energetic and just fresh out of bed. 

Work on it first, then you can move onto activities that are not so urgent or critical to your goals and dreams.

3. Minimize time wasters.

In order to become a very good time keeper, you will need to minimize the amount of time that you waste throughout the day. 

Many people out there spend alot of their time engaged in activities that do not add any value to them or even push them towards their goals and dreams in the long run.

 For example if you want to start your own business, spending lots of time watching movies on Netflix will not add any value to you towards achieving those goals of building a succesful business. 

You will need to minimize or completely cut out the time that you dedicate to watching Netflix and instead use that time to read books about running a successful business or even better start working on establishing your business by writing down the plans and how you are going to execute your business, do market research and find out where you will be able to get the funding for your business. 

If you minimize the time you waste, you will most likely see progress in your life.
