When we talk of learning, what comes to your mind? I know you are thinking schools and books, teachers and lecturers.
It is possible to learn something new from schools and the teachers out there but you can learn better when you use the method that i will call exploration. In my own opinion, one of the best ways to learn something new is through exploration.
You will need to figure things out yourself, tinker around with things until you can discover what you can do and not do.
When you talk about learning how to code or computer programming skills, there is very little that you can learn from computer science classes that can help you to build something that can actually work like a mobile app or even a website.
The courses offered in those classes are just too narrow to help you to even come up with something worthwhile.The best way you can learn how to code is through exploration, by simply playing around with the code and then seeing what happens with it.
Working on different projects, altering the code and tinkering with it will make your learning more fun and exciting.
I have seen so many self-taught software developers and computer programmers who have gone on to build exciting things out there.
Mark Zuckerberg, the founder of Facebook taught himself how to code and was able to use those skills to build many applications and among them is the popular socialnetworking site Facebook.
Learning through exploration will help you to build enough confidence within yourself with the skills that you are acquiring and know that you can always rely on your instincts to keep learning new things out there.
The risks that you will encounter of experimenting on your own is that you will be able to make many mistakes and you can easily find yourself stuck.
You will find yourself trying to reinvent the wheel. Although you are trying to rediscover what most people with experience already know, it will eventually be very rewarding when you get to the aha moment.
This discovery of the wheel will be of your own effort and it will be very special to you.
