CHALLENGING YOURSELF TO CHANGE

By Matata Mercy

Change is a constant factor in our lives and most people out there have experienced change in their relationships, careers and even in their own lives.

To Approach Change Differently, Change Your Approach ...

When change takes place, several things do happen and some of these things can be good while others can be bad and devastating to our lives.

Just imagine a situation where a company decides to downsize and reduce the number of it's employees. This simply means that people are going to lose their jobs and also it means that families are going to suffer and face the consequences of the actions of the company.

This kind of change is bad on the side of employees since they will be losing their livelihood and also the future of their households is left unknown.

On the otherside of things, the company is making profits and the shareholders of the company are happy because they will be earning more dividends since there are less employees  left to be paid.

That is exactly what happens when change takes place. While some people will enjoy the positive sides of change, others will have to deal with the negative sides of change.

If you are in a relationship and your partner asks a divorce, change is going to happen and this change could be for the good or for the bad.

If you are a man and your wife decides to ask for a divorce, it simply means that when she has left, you will most likely end up in the kitchen, prepare food and even clean the house yourself.

You will also miss out on the sex especially if it has been good sex that you have been enjoying, all you will be left with are the memories in your brain of the experiences that you shared together.

Since change is enevitable, then we should be able to prepare for the shifts in change that will take place.

We should be able to challenge ourselves to embrace the positive sides of change.  If a partner who is toxic left you, you would be happy and excited since you will have gotten some freedom to be able to focus on the things that matter in your life.

If you want to adopt positive changes in your life, you will need to set for yourself goals and be able to find a mechanism that you can use to measure those goals.

For example if you have a habit of not  showering and you would like to remove that habit from your system and become more cleaner, then you can decide to set a goal of bathing at least once each and everyday. If you continue doing this each and everyday for about 21 days, it will become a habit and bathing will be something hard for you to actually skip without noticing.

Monitor yourself and ensure that everyday you perform the act of bathing this will stick into your mind and it will become like just having your meals everyday.

So in order for you to enforce positive changes in your life, the first step is for you to accept that you are doing bad in that area and make up your mind to make some changes in that part of your life.

Then start taking some deliberate steps towards changing that behaviour or habit and finally continue monitoring that habit until it has been reinforced into your system.

Change happens and it will always happen but how we prepare for it matters. I urge you to be ready to change to the positive side of your life so that you can be able to enjoy your life and live it to the fullest. Wish you good luck in life.
