WHAT CAREERS WOULD YOU LIKE TO PURSUE IN LIFE?

By Matata Mercy

When i was still young, there was one question that i was always asked frequently and i almost got tired of that question being asked.

The 10 Best Careers to Pursue Right Now | Reader's Digest

It went like this " What do you want to become when you grow up?". To answer this question most people think that it is just one answer meaning they should just pursue one career.

Most of my friends would often answer saying they would love to become a doctor, teacher, Engineer or Nurse.

But can't a human being pursue more than one career in their life time? To me, i believe we have more potential than we actually believe we do.

It is very possible for people to have more than one career and you can take a look at people like Leonardo da Vinci who did amazing things in his life, and he didnot restrict himself to one boring career but instead explored different careers.

Leonardo da Vinci had practiced Engineering especially flight, mechanics. He also ventured into Medicine,Optics, Gravity, Science, painting, sculpting and many other fields.

If he can do it then it is actually very possible for us to practice also more than one career. I have seen people do music, acting and also business all in one life time.

Another critical question that you could ask would be how can a human being practice more than one career in their life time.

It is possible to do this and one way is to start by doing one thing first for sometime especially do it for some years and then you can later switch on to other careers that you actually want to go to.

For example you can start out as an Engineer, study hard at school and pursue an Engineering course which could in Mechanical Engineering and then work at an Engineering firm for about five years or so and then after that you can start switching careers by beginning to take up guitar lessons so that this can lead you to become a music artist and be able to record some songs.

When you are able to switch from one career to another, you will have more fun and also gain more valuable skills and experience in various fields.

It is very frustrating to keep in one career line which you do not like but are just showing up at the work place each and everyday because you want to earn some money to be able to pay your bills.

What if you could try out some of the careers that you are passionate about and have interest in? You just never know what might actually come out of those careers.

As Richard Branson  has always said you should be able to live your life to the fullest. You should not limit yourself to one career when you have the potential to accomplish more in your life.

I therefore urge you to get out there and start venturing into other careers that you do have interest in.
