Popular Kenyan actress Brenda Wairimu has said that she  has been using acting as an escape route from the challenges that she did face from her personal life.

She added during the time when she lost her parents and was feeling strong blows from her relationship, she decided to concentrate on her art which is acting and it actually saved her and that is how she won the trophies that she did. She said that she was trying to drive home the point that artists are just human beings, they do mourn, cry and also face challenges like everyone else.
