Sundar Pichai is currently the Chief Executive Officer of both Google and Aphabet Inc. This was after the Google founders Larry Page and Sergey Brin stepped down from their day to day leadership activities at the technology company.
Sundar Pichai was born in Chennai in the Asian country of India. Sundar's father worked as an electrical engineer while his mother also worked as a stenographer before she actually gave birth to him and his other brother.
During that time Pichai's family was not wealthy and he had to sleep with his younger brother in the living room in their apartment that had two rooms.
While still young, Pichai developed a strong talent for remembering numbers and his family became aware of this when they discovered that he was in position to remember all the phone numbers that he had ever dialled on the rotary phone at home.
Sundar Pichai is still in position to show off his memorization skills when meetings are organized. He later developed a strong interest in computers and programming skills and as a result he was able to build his first software program called the chess game.
Pichai attended the Indian Institute of Technology Kharagpur where he studied Metallurgical Engineering. After graduating successfully from the Institute, he got a scholarship to go at study at Stanford University where he graduated with a Masters degree.
After completing his Masters degree at Stanford University, Sundar Pichai joined the University of Pennyslyvania where he obtained a Masters degree in Business Administration. Before he started working at Google, Pichai worked at the Applied materials and consulting firm which is called Mckinsey and company.
After joining Google, Pichai convinced the founders to help Google develop it's own web browser and this led to the development of the popular web browser called Google Chrome and it has become the most used web browser by Internet users around the world.
In the year 2013, Sundar Pichai became responsible for the Android division at Google and helped grow the market share for the company's mobile operating system and now Android has become the most widely used mobile operating system in the world.
Sundar Pichai is an inspiration to all the youths out there around the world who are planning to join the technology industry and entrepreneurship as a whole.
