 Steve Chen is an American entrepreneur who is popularly known for being the co-founder of the popular video sharing website called YouTube.

He has also worked as the chief technology officer of the video sharing website after it was bought by Google for $1.65 billion dollars. Steve Chen was born in the month of August in the year 1978 in a place called  Taipei  which is found in Taiwan.

 Steve Chen and his family later moved to the United States during the time when he was just about the age of 15 and they settled in a place called Prospect Heights which is found in Illinois.

Steve Chen obtained his middle school education from River Trails Middle school which is found in Mount Prospect.

He completed his highschool education at John Hersey highschool which is found in Arlington Heights. Steve Chen later studied at the University of Illinois which is found at Urbana-Champaign.

After completing his studies at University, Steve Chen got a job at the payment processing company called Paypal and it was here that he was able to meet Chad Hurley and his other colleague called Jawed Karim.

 In the year 2005, the  three former employees of Paypal started the video sharing website called Youtube that was designed to help simply the way videos could be shared online without any complications.

Youtube later became one of the fastest growing websites online and was later ranked at the tenth most popular website  year just after it was launched.

 According to reports, there are over 100 million video clips that are watched everyday from Youtube and about 65000 new videos that are uploaded to the website daily. In the year 2006, Steve Chen and his co-founders decided to sell Youtube to Google for $1.65 billion.

  This deal made Steve Chen a millionaire and then later went on to work at Google as the Chief technology officer of Youtube under Google.

Steve Chen is an inspiration to all the youths out there who are planning to become entreprenuers or want to start their own ventures.
