DO NOT JUST SET GOALS BUT BUILD HABITS THAT WILL HELP YOU TO BECOME SUCCESSFUL

Everyone wants to become successful and that is the reason why most people set goals. We have been taught that setting higher goals will most likely bring success into our lives.

Most of us have been taught to set higher goals and then do everything that we can to help us achieve those goals.

 We forget that we actually will need to first take some baby steps towards those goals before we can reach the greatness that we have always been craving for.

 Setting goals will force you to achieve the big dreams that you have set for yourself , although the goals can be big or small it is just a way of measuring the things that you would have loved to accomplish in a specific period of time.

 Habits are actually the daily routines that you develop when you constantly practice a particular task.  Habits will help you to make progress towards the success that you want to achieve.

For example if you are an author out there and your goal is to complete the draft of your book within  a year.

You have set for yourself a goal and you might even have put in place the strategies that you are planning to use to help you achieve your goal of completing  the draft of your book within that time frame.


You will need to commit to writing  each and every morning the moment you wake up when you are alert and at your peak of activity.

 That is what habits will do to you. You will be able to write many chapters without worrying about any distractions like time frame that has been hovering over your head as a result of the goal that you have set for yourselves.

Goals  will put you on tenter hooks but habits will help you to take the action of writing  pushing you closer to your goal of completing your draft.

 Goals  are the first things we put in place and set for ourselves but the truth of the matter is that they are not enough to help us to achieve success.

Why are goals not enough to help us achieve success?  The truth is goals do not last, you can set work goals for a year or a month but after that period of time has expired, what then will happen?

 You might just end up exhausted and start doing things the usual way. You will end up feeling in adequate when you fail to reach your goals.

You might have the skills but if you fail to reach certain goals, your motivation could just end up evaporating. Goals will also put a limit on what you want to achieve and when you reach the targets that you wanted to achieve, you might stagnate after that.

Goals are good but developing habits is a far more better investment than just setting goals. Habits are incremental in nature and push you towards success in  slow but sure way.

 Why do you think habits will help you achieve success more than goals? Habits are there forever. These practices that you have developed will always stay with you for life and will in the end help you to achieve more goals since these habits can be sustained.

Habits are also easier to accomplish since your mind will be programmed to do them on a daily basis hence leading you to success. Habits are small activities that you practice and therefore do not add a lot of heavy load but will certainly bring success into your life.

Goals might help you to reach your potential but will need proper action to help you to be able to achieve them and will most likely stretch you out.

 Habits will teach you to increase your progress even without putting in a lot of effort and will also help you to sustain your success since they are life long investments.

Therefore, hold onto your positive habits and they will help you to achieve any goal that you have set for yourself.
