Did some one say that we are going back to the days of Moses and his Isrealite friends who were taken into slavery by the mighty Egyptians?
Probably we could be going back to those days because surprisingly the desert locusts are apparently on their way here to the Pearl of Africa.
The desert locusts have been moving through the deserts after emerging off the Ethiopian highlands in the North Eastern part of Africa. This swarm of locusts swept through Somalia destroying each and every green vegetation that they did find on their path.
You can talk of famine just next to our door step, apparently the locusts are feasting on vegetation that is found in our neighbouring country called Kenya.
I did also hear some rumours that these creatures can actually be eaten and that they are a very good delicacy full of animal proteins but iam yet to find out that since none of these creatures has ever crossed path with my lips and teeth combined.
How much money and resources is the Ugandan government allocating for the locust invasion so that we know that the people whom we pay our taxes to truly do care about us.
Iam not trying to turn this tragedy into a political move but the truth is that our ministry responsible for disaster needs to prepare the way for the mighty locusts that are eating their way up to the pearl of Africa.
We would expect some food to already be stored somewhere in the ministry ware houses just in case we happen not to survive the locust epidemic. Is it even and epidemic?
Iam not even sure but why don't we just eat the damn insects and save ourselves from facing extreme hunger. Are the locusts coming to Uganda or not? Well, i don't know and iam yet to find out but the truth is that sooner or later we shall know.
