BIOGRAPHY: INSPIRING STORY OF SHINGISAI SULUMA, THE ZIMBABWEAN MUSIC ARTIST

 Shingisai Suluma is a  gospel music artist who hails from Zimbabwe which is found in Southern Africa  and she is also a song writer and worship leader. 

 

Shingi Sai Suluma was born in the year 1971 to a father called  Christopher and a mother called  Dorcas Chadoka.

Her parents loved music and they both were choir members in church. Shingisai attended  Chembira  primary school which is found in  Glen Norah.

 After completing her primary school education, she proceeded to  Hatfield Girls Highschool where she obtained her Ordinary level of education  and later she joined  Oriel Girls School where she attained her Advanced level of education hence completing her secondary school education.

 After completing her secondary school education,  Shingisai moved to  England to study art at  Surrey University which is found in Wimbledon and later she successfully graduated with a Bachelor of Arts degree in textile and design  from the university.

 After completing her university education, she returned to her home country Zimbabwe and started working as an art teacher at Oriel Girls School and Alan Wilson  Boys School.

During this time she decided to venture into doing gospel music professionally and was able to record very many albums and became very popular for her music.

 Shingai later returned to school to study English and after completing her studies, she travelled to China to teach English there for sometime.

 After her stint in China, Shingai moved to the  United States to continue with her studies and while there she graduated with a Masters of Arts degree in Christian Education from the New Orleans Theological Baptist  School.

Due to her success in music, Suluma has received numerous awards and some of these awards are  National Arts Merit award for best outstanding song, and during the Zimbabwe gospel music awards she emerged as the best female gospel artist.

Some of the songs that have been done by Shingai are  Ndewake,Rwendo, Masuwo, O Holy Night, Zvanaka and many others. Shingai is married to a man called Stephen Suluma and they have two beautiful daughters called Tashinga and Tiara.

Shingai Suluma is an inspiration to all the youths especially the girls in  Zimbabwe that it is very possible to achieve your goals and dreams if you are willing to work hard and stay patient.
