Nathalie Makoma is a Congolese singer, songwriter and dancer who was the lead singer of the gospel singing group called Makoma and has now embarked on a solo singing career aiming to exploit her career to the fullest.
Nathalie Makoma was born on the 24th of February in the year 1982 in Kinshasha which is the capital city of Democratic Republic of Congo.
Nathalie Makoma started doing music with her family back in the year 1993 and the band of the family group was called Nouveau testament.
The group was later given a new name and it was called Makoma and it was made up of the three brothers, three sisters and one non-family member in it.
The group has become very successful singing in the Lingala language, French and also English. At the age of 14,. Nathalie Makoma moved to Netherlands with some of her family members and joined school where she was studying Onstage performance at Rocacademie which is found in Tilburg.
During this time, the Makoma band continued to perform and became very successful and travelled around the world. As a result of the success of the Makoma Band, Nathalie Makoma decided to quit school and go and perform with the family band.
In 2004, Nathalie Makoma decided to quit the Makoma band and start her own solo music career and decided to release an album that she called Gogospel and after this album she left Democratic Republic of Congo so that she could get established in England and later moved onto Ireland.
Nathalie Makoma later took part in the Dutch idols singing comopetition where she came second and was later signed to Sony BMG records and later decided to take part in the Dancing with the Stars coming second in 2009.
In 2010, Nathalie Makoma left Sony BMG records and decided to sign herself to her own record label that she called NM House Music and in the year 2014, she released her new single called One more try.
Nathalie Makoma is an inspiration to all youths in Democratic Republic of Congo especially the girls and all youths in Africa, that it is possible to become successful if you have the determination and zeal to keep moving forward.
