This soup is actually the quickest and easiest soup to prepare and it is normally served for guests and special visitors.

Today i will give you some tips on how you can be able to prepare this delicious soup from the Igbo tribe of Nigeria.

Ingredients

- One  cat fish that is big enough

- Eight small pieces of yam which is white

- Five leaves of Utazi

- Small piece of Ogiri Okpei

- Cray fish which is handful

- Habanero pepper for the taste

- Salt if required.

Method

1. Put the seasoning cubes that have been crushed into the pot containing fish.

2. Now add the yam pieces and pour water in order to cover it up and then allow it to cook. When the yam pieces have softened and they are moist, remove them from the pot and then put them in a mortar.

3. Now add the crayfish that has been pounded, Utazi and Ogiri Okpei  into the pot of fish and then allow it to continue cooking.

4. The cooked yam should be pounded in a mortar when it is still smooth and also stretched. Now add the yam into the pot of ofe Nsala in small quantities, cover it and then allow it to cook.

5. When the yam has dissolved and it has thickened the soup, then it means that it is ready. You should remove the undissolved yam so that the Ofe Nsala soup is not very thick.

6. Now add some salt and stir it very well before serving while still warm.
