WHAT SKILL WILL YOU LEARN AND USE IN THE NEXT 10 YEARS TO IMPROVE YOUR LIFE?

In the world we live in today, most people out there are emphasising skills and one thing that actually baffles me is that when you hear people talking about acquiring skills, instead they are actually talking about formal education and passing exams and tests.

The degree syndrome has eaten up our education system that everyone else wants to go to University forgetting that most of the so-called education that they will actually acquire at that higher level of learning might not actually be of any use to them in the real world they do live in.

When we do some critical analysis on the high unemployment rates that we do have in countries around Africa especially Uganda, one of the main causes of unemployment is not actually the lack of jobs but it is mostly that the youths who are seeking the jobs do not actually have some critical and relevant skills that can be applied in today's world to provide products and services that could be used by others at a fee hence giving them some form of income.

We have seen many people coming out of Universities and other tertiary Institutions with qualifications that they cannot put to use, it is very sad that after all those years and putting in alot of money, they can hardly do anything.

What i do strongly believe that everyone out there is responsible for their circumstances and creating the life that they would like to live, no one else will come to your rescue and hand over to you anything on a platter and therefore instead of blaming the government for not providing jobs or even your parents and friends for not caring about you, you should take charge of your life and start working on things that can improve your life and make it better.

When you become a master at doing something, it is hard to fail in life and you will certainly figure out how to earn some income from that skill you choose to develop and master.

There are many skills out there that you can learn but i do think, you should start by doing the things that you love or things that you are passionate about. For my case, i love writing and it is from this passion that my love for blogging hs developed from.

Blogging is something that i can do even if iam not paid a single penny or coin.

Can i say that it is a natural occurence to me, something that i happen to do even without thinking much about it.  If you can discover a skill that you can do just for the love of it, then you are on the right track to mastering that skill.

When the obstacles show up on your way, you will easily sail by and just keep learning.

For the next 10 years, i hope to continue writing and blogging  and then also immerse myself into learning to play an instrument since music is one of the things that i have had a passion for for a long time but i have never taken the time to explore it fully.

Some of the instruments that i would like to learn to play are the guitar and the piano. If i can learn to play both instruments in the next 10 years, i will have acquired a great and valuable skill that could propel me into a future that lies in music.

Iam not planning to be a Jimi Hendrix or John Legend but if it happens, there is no crime in it, i will just enjoy the ride.

Over time, i have learnt that the more skills you acquire and master, the more money you are more likely to make that is if money actually matters to you.

So what skill are you planning to learn and use in the next 10 years? Will it be blogging, writing, coding, cooking or public speaking, it is all up to you.

From what i know, whatever you choose to learn, in the longterm you will improve irrespective of how bad you start out you will eventually gain some ground and have some new skill at your disposal that could make you a better human being than you are right now.
