Former Ugandan Inspector General of Police Gen. Kale Kayihura has decided to slam the sanctions that the United States have placed on him as a result of the human rights abuses that were committed by the Ugandan police on citizens during his tenure.
Gen. Kayihura has said that he worked closely with the FBI to fight crime and also stop terrorism in Uganda. He said therefore that there is no wrongdoing and he doesnot want the saying that Uganda Police was a criminal unit under his tenure.
Under the sanctions, Gen. Kayihura and his family will be banned from travelling to the United States and their bank accounts and properties will also be frozen.
