Ingredients needed
- 2 pounds of sliced beef liver.
-2 cups of milk or as required.
- A cup of butter.
- 2 large Vidalia Onions that have been sliced already in rings.
- 2 cups of all-purpose flour.
- Salt and Pepper to provide the right taste.
Procedure to be followed
1. Start by gently rinsing liver slices under cold water and then place the liver in a medium bowl. You should pour in enough milk so that it covers up the liver.
Leave it to soak up for about an hour or two depending on the amount of time that you have available as you are preparing the onions. This helps in removing out the bitter taste of the liver.
2. Melt 2 table spoons of butter into a large skillet over a medium of heat that is available. Now, separate the onion rings and then soak them in the butter until they are soft. Remove the onions and then melt the remaining butter into the skillet.
Then add the flour with salt and pepper, and then put it in a shallow dish or on a plate. Drain the milk from the liver slices and then coat the slices with mixture of the flour.
3. After the butter has melted, you can increase the level of heat to medium-high, and then you can place the coated slices of liver in the pan.
Cook until the liver has turned nice and brown in colour at the bottom. Turn it over and let it cook on the other side also until it is brown in colour.
Add onions, and then reduce the heat to the medium level. Cook it a bit longer so that it becomes more tasty.
4. Serve while hot and now you can enjoy it.
