If you live in Africa most especially in Uganda or East Africa, you must have come across a certain type of greens which is called Amaranthus but commonly known as Dodo.
This is one type of greens that is commonly eaten across Africa most especially in East Africa. This type of greens can be prepared in different forms depending on the recipe that you would like to cook.
This is a type vegetable that you can experiment with if you love trying out new recipes. Today, i would like to give you some tips on how you can be able to prepare Sauteed Dodo.
Ingredients
- 3 handfuls of fresh dodo.
-1 chopped Tomato
- 1 chopped spring onion
-1 small purple onion.
- Cooking Oil.
- Salt.
Procedure to be followed
1. Start by washing the fresh dodo thoroughly and then dry it up and put it aside. Pour a tablespoon of cooking oil into a pan and heat it up.
2. Add the onions and then stir it up for about a minute. Add the salt and then add the tomatoes and keep stiring until they become soft.
3. Now, add dodo and start stiring it ensuring that it is well mixed with the onions and tomatoes.
4. Wait for some few miminutes, until the dodo has turned into a bright green colour and then remove it from the fire and now you can serve it as a side dish.
