BIOGRAPHY: INSPIRING STORY OF LUMALA ABDU


Abdu Lumala is a Ugandan footballer who plays as a foward in the Ugandan national team and has been playing football for a club called  Syrianska  Football Club  which is found in Sweden in Europe. Lumala Abdu was born in a place called Kataba which is found in Uganda.

Abdu Lumala was raised up by his grandmother after the death of his mother when  he was just a few months old and his father was not known.

Since most of the African names are associated with clans that they belong to, it has been said that  Abdu Lumala's father could most likely be a prominent local businessman who resides in Busia also called Lumala, said to have fathered many children who all go by the name of Lumala.

At the age of 10, Abdu Lumala was given a shirt of a European player who is called Henrick Larson as a birthday gift by her aunt and this footballer soon became his role model that he looked up to.

With the hope that Abdu Lumala will be able to receive a better life, he was sent by his grandmother to live in Kampala which is the capital city of Uganda when he was just sixteen years of age.

While in Kampala, Abdu Lumala took up very many odd jobs so that he could  be able to earn a living and among some of these jobs was washing cars. 

While there, he was able to meet some Europeans who were able to get him a plane ticket and was flown to Sturup Airport  which is found in Sweden.

Abdu Lumala was then abandoned on the streets of Malmo and it was there that he decided to contact the immigration which is called Migrationsverket.

The people at the immigration were able to get some accomodation for Abdu Lumala in a little town called Bromolla. Abdu Lumala then started to train with the local club in this little town and this locla club was called  Bromolla or Ifo named after the town.

 This Swedish club is in the fifth tier and while there Abdul Lumala did not shoes for playing on the pitch and therefore he decided to move with a friend to another club called  Gualoves GolF.

At Gualovs GolF, Abdul Lumala became the captain of the team and he managed to score 20 goals in 10 games.   Abdul Lumala was later signed by another big local club which is called Mjallby AIF. This club signed him in the year 2014.

 Abdu Lumala played the rest of that season with the under 17 and under 19 team before he was moved to the senior team.  Abdu Lumala was later signed up by the Swedish second division team which is called Superettan.

 He was able to impress the officials at the club after he was able to score 3 goals in 24 games when he was just 17 years old.

As a result of his success on the pitch, other clubs heard of his talent and wanted to sign him. Some of these clubs that wanted to sign him are Malmo FF and also Olympiakos FC.

Abdu Lumala decided to instead play his football at the club called Kalmar FC where he was able to score 6 goals after playing 10 league games for the club.

Abdu Lumala made his international debut for his home country Uganda when he was listed in the first team that played a friendly game against a club called Turkmenistan on the 9th of June in  the year 2019.

Abdu Lumala is an inspiration to all the youths out there who are planning to join the world of sports and especially football and plan to do it professionally.
