BIOGRAPHY: INSPIRING STORY OF STEVE BALLMER


Steve Anthony Ballmer is an American entrepreneur and investor who was hired by the founder of Microsoft, Bill Gates  to come and work at Microsoft after he dropped out of Stanford University.

Steve Ballmer was born in the month of March on the 24th in the year 1956  in  a place called Detroit in the state of Michigan  which is found in the United States.

 Steve Ballmer was born to Beatrice Dorwkin who was his mother and his father was called Frederic Henry Ballmer and he worked at the Ford Motor Company  where he held a managerial post. His father was an immigrant from Sweden while his mother was from Belarus.

Steve Ballmer spent his childhood years in the community that resided in Farmington Hills which is found Michigan. Steve Ballmer also one time lived in Brussels where he was able to attend International School of Brussels   from the year 1964  up to 1967.

In 1973, Steve Ballmer joined Lawrence Technological University where he attended college prep and also engineering classes. Ballmer also graduated from valedictorian from the Detroit  Country  Day School which is found in Detroit.

Steve Ballmer later joined Havard University where he graduated with Bachelor of Arts degree in Applied Mathematics and Economics in the year 1977.

While at Havard University, Steve Ballmer became the manager of the  Havard Crimson  football team and also a member of the Fox Club  He also worked on the Havard Crimson newspaper  at the sametime the  Havard Advocate  and in the hall next to his sophomore called Bill Gates.

 After completing his degree at Havard University, Steve Ballmer worked with a company called Proctor and Gamble  where he worked for two years and was sharing an office with Jeffery Immelt who later became the chief executive of General Electric.

 In the year 1980, Steve Ballmer decided to drop out of Graduate school of Business at Stanford University so that he could go on and work with Microsoft, a company that was founded by Bill Gates and his friend Paul Allen.

 Steve Ballmer joined Microsoft as the 30th employee in the company in the month of June in 1980 and he became the first business manager to be hired by Bill  Gates for the company.

Steve Ballmer was at first offered a salary of $50,000 with some stock options in the company of about 8 percent.

 In the year 2003, Steve Ballmer sold some of the shares that he owned in the company  and was able to get a return of $955 million dollars  and this reduced his ownership from 8 percent to 4 percent of the company.

This was the same year in which he decided to replace the employee stock options programme at Microsoft.

While at Microsoft, Steve Ballmer worked at different departments in the company including Operating systems development, Operations, and also Sales and support department.

In February 1992, Steve Ballmer was promoted as the executive vice president of the company responsible for Sales and Support.

 During that time Steve Ballmer was able to lead the development of the .NET Framework.

He was later promoted to the tittle of President of Microsoft which tittle he held from the year 1998 to the year 2001and he became the number two in the company after the Chairman and Chief Executive, Bill Gates.

In the year 2000, in the month of January, Steve Ballmer became the chief executive officer of Microsoft where his role was to handle the company finances and also  monitor the daily operations.
