BIOGRAPHY: INSPIRING STORY OF ZAMBIAN SINGER MAMPI


 Miriam Mukape who is popularly known as Mampi is a Zambian female music artist, singer who is popularly known for doing R&B and pop music genre.

Her music is inspired  by the Kwaito and raggae type of music from which her style of music ideas were borrowed. Mampi was born in the capital city of Zambia called Lusaka in the month of August on 4th and in the year 1986. Mampi started singing when she was just six years old.

 Mampi went to  Muyooma Basic School for her primary school education and after completing her primary school education, she joined  Libala Highschool where she obtained her secondary school education before proceeding to a tertiary institution in Lusaka which is called  Springfields  Coaching Centre.

While she was 14 years old, Mampi lost her  mother after she suffered from cancer and just after two years when she was 16 years old  her father also passed on after he was murdered alongside her brother under unclear circumstances.

After these horrific situations, Mampi's life drastically changed and there were times when she found out that she was actually homeless and due to all these problems that she faced, she was not able to continue with her education.

 Mampi has revealed that being prayerful and getting help from her friends was what helped her move through those tough times.

 During that period when she lost her father and brother, a music producer discovered Mampi and in 2003, Mampi was able to sign a recording contract with the record label  of that music producer. In the year 2005, Mampi was able to release her first album which was called Maloza  This album also included a song called  Sunshya that she was able to perform when she first appeared on the Zambian television.

 In 2007, Mampi released her second album that was named Chimo ni chimo. In 2012, Mampi was able to perform in Windhoek at a concert which has organised in Namibia for the first time.

Mampi again released another music album in 2012 that she called Natural Born star. In the year 2015 a certain version of one of the songs of Mampi  which is a hit track called walilowelela was released by a  music artist from Portugal who is called Luyanna.

 This song was still having some of it's lines  that were sang by Mampi in Bempa and Nyanja and the portuguese music artist was sing his lines in portuguese languange. 

The video of this song was inspired full by the African culture but Mampi did not actually appear in the video of the song with Luyanna and instead the two music artists both appeared in the video of another song that was released by Mampi called Why.

  In 2017, in the month of December  Zambian singer Mampi was able to release another song that was tittled  Nyula yako and the song was picked from an upcoming album that was to be released the following year in 2018.

The album would be carrying the same tittle of the song.  This  song that was inspired by dancehall was then accompanied by a music video.

 In December 2017, Mampi alongside with South African award winning DJ who is called DJ Black Coffee linked up with other music artists around Africa and were able to wrap up the year with the carnival called  Victoria Falls Carnival.

 Zambian singer Mampi also joined the Big Brother Africa  competition which was now in the seventh season and she appeared as one of the celebrity housemates  of the reality television series  which was dubbed Big Brother Star Game.

 In 2012, in the month of May, Zambian singer Mampi was evicted from the  Big Brother  Africa house after spending 21 days which is approximately three weeks living in the house.

 Mampi is a very inspirational female music artist who inspires very many youths in Zambia and Africa as a whole especially the girls out there who would  like to join the entertainment industry particularly  the music industry.
