Zodwa Rebecca Wabantu who is popularly known as Zodwa Wabantu is a South African socialite and dancer who is popularly known for the numerous controversies and also her acts of dancing naked at public functions.
Zodwa Wabantu was born on the 30th of October in the year 1985 in a place called Soweto which is found in South Africa.
Zodwa Wabantu became an orphan at a tender age of just 9 years old. After the death of her mother at the age of 11, Zodwa Wabantu said that she had to move in with her grandmother who helped to raise her up.
Zodwa Wabantu said that she does not know her father and even how he looks like and she decided to leave home with only one thing in mind and that is her ability to live through the favours offered to her by the strangers that she met on her way.
Zodwa Wabantu said that when her mother died at the age of 11, the life at home started to change and it was not easy in anyway.
She said that she was forced to fight for food each and every day at meal times and she realised that that was not the way life should actually be. She said that she was asked why she was eating when her cousins had not yet eaten anything.
She said that at that point in time she realised that she had no choice but to move on and it dawned on her that she had to hustle in order to survive.
Zodwa Wabantu started dancing when she and her friends started visiting hangout found in Soweto which is called Rock club and she became very popular due to the rare dance moves that she used to make.
She became very popular as a result of her dancing skills and she has worked with top celebrities like the Durbanite Dj Tira and many other celebrities out there. Zodwa Wabantu was once dating Khanyi Mbau’s ex-boyfriend who is called Mandla Mthembau.
During the Vodacom July party that took place at Greyville Racecourse, Zodwa Wabantu turned heads when she came dressed in a black figure hugging dress with a high slit that left very many people speechless and stunned.
The photos of her outfit floated on social media and Zodwa Wabantu became the talk of the town. She defended herself by speaking in her native language Sowetan by saying that she is proud with the fact that she does not wear any underwear and therefore she is able to flaunt and show off her cellulite and womanhood with a lot of pride.
Zodwa Wabantu continued by saying that the inspiration behind her appearing in such an outrageous outfit was that she wanted to look sexy and bold. She emphasised the point that she wanted to show the public that she does not actually wear any panties.
The photo was clearly displaying her cellulite for all to see. She said that she wanted to send a message to the women that they do not actually need to hide what they are.
In the Daily Sun newspaper, Zodwa Wabantu defended herself by saying that she is a role model to very many people out there and she then said that the negative comments that are being spread out there will not break her up.
Zodwa Wabantu claimed that people were calling her a prostitute and then they were comparing her thighs to those of a chicken but she said that she will not allow the negative comments to bring her down.
She said that people out there will be able to face their challenges and also overcome theme simply because of the examples that setting out for them.
Zodwa Wabantu who is one of the most popular and renown dancers in South Africa was able to land a branding deal from an energy drink company despite the fact that she dances seductively and dresses outlandishly.
She has said that she does not want to be pressured into marriage since we only live once and therefore she wants to have the best life that she deserves and do what she desires and not what society wants her to do.
According to reliable sources, Zodwa Wabantu charges an amount of 35000 South African Rand in order to appear at a function and also be able to perform her famous dances.
Before becoming a full time dancer, Zodwa Wabantu used to work for a debt collection company.
She then one time made up her mind and quite her job so that she could concentrate her efforts on dancing and participate fully in the entertainment industry.
She has a son but she is not married. Zodwa Wabantu is an inspiration to very many South African youths out there especially those who would like to join the entertainment industry.
