BIOGRAPHY: INSPIRING STORY OF KING SAHA


Semanda Mansur who is popularly known as King Saha is a Ugandan music artiste, singer, entrepreneur and also a songwriter. King Saha was born on the 2nd of September 1989 in the central region of Uganda and he is a Muganda by tribe and ethnicity.

 King Saha went to a primary school called St. Agnes primary school where he was able to receive his primary school education from primary one up to the final year of primary school in Uganda called Primary Seven.

 During his primary school days, King Saha joined a church choir that he used to sing for and this church choir was called Mugonga church choir. 

Although he was a Muslim since his parents were Muslims, they allowed him to sing in the church choir due to his talent. King Saha became the lead vocalist in that choir as a result of his outstanding talent that was oozing openly within the choir members.

 During that time, King Saha also joined a music competition which was aimed at identifying talent among the youths and then later nurturing that talent to become something useful in the country.

 At the music competitions, King Saha emerged as the best and he was awarded the prize of the best folk song.

The competition organisers also offered a bursary for the winner of the competition whereby they would be paying half the school fees of the winner throughout his secondary school studies.

King Saha kicked off his professional music career with a music label that belonged to one of Uganda’s top music producers called Producer Didi under the music label that was called Born Fire.

 King Saha’s first hit song was called Mulirwana and this is the song that brought King Saha into the limelight and into the eyes of the Ugandan music lovers.

Before his hit song that brought him into the limelight in the Ugandan music industry, King Saha was working as a backup singer for one of Uganda’s top music artist who is called Jose Chameleon whose real name is Joseph Mayanja under the Leon Island label. 

King Saha’s music mostly dwells in the RnB style and sometimes he also does the Afropop kind of music which is loved by very many Ugandan music lovers.

King Saha has done very many music collaborations with other top Ugandan music artists like Sheebah Karungi, Pallaso and others.

  In 2018, King Saha teamed up with two of the Ugandan DJs and these are DJ Roja and DJ Slick Stuart and they released a hit song called Very Well that was ranked as one of the top songs of the year 2018 by NBS television.

The song has also appeared on very many music countdowns across numerous television stations and radio stations in Uganda. 

 King Saha also worked with Weasel and they released a hit song called Mpa love and very many music lovers have argued that he is a perfect replacement for Moses Sekibogo who was popularly known as Moses Radio who passed away at the beginning of 2018.

King Saha has finally become one of the top music artists in Uganda after starting out working in Leon Island owned by Jose Chameleon.

  As a result of his musical success, King Saha has been able to win some awards as a sign of recognising his musical effort and among some of these awards are Uganda Entertainment awards, Hipipo awards, Rising star awards and also other many awards.

 Some of the songs that have been worked on by King Saha are as follows, Nkwagala, Maria, Sembera, Ondabisa, Gulawo, Work, Nze Ngamba,  Deejay Tutwale, Mwana Gwe,  Kyatule,Lonely, Beera Awo, Sweet Love, Musajja Watu,  Gundeeze, Mulirwana,Winner, Akazanyo, Very well and others.

 King Saha is an inspiration to all the youths who are planning to join the music industry and he continues to inspire and give hope to all the youths out there, showing them that it is possible to achieve your dreams.

  2. King Saha is doing very well but i think Moses Radio is a Ugandan legend and he has helped many Ugandan music artistes and therefore Saha's talent cannot reach the level of Moses Radio. Thanks for commenting.
