BIOGRAPHY: INSPIRING STORY OF WENDY KIMANI

Wendy Kimani is a Kenyan singer, entertainer, songwriter and actress who came into the limelight after she contested in the second season of the Tusker Project Fame competition. 

Wendy decided to release her first album in 2013 and named the album My Essence. 

She also starred in the television series which is called Rush. Wendy Kimani was born in the year 1986 on 18^th May of that year and she grew up in Nairobi which is the capital city of Kenya, the East African country. 

Wendy develop her talent for music by listening to other people sing especially the established music artists. In 2008, Wendy joined the Tusker project Fame competition where she was selected both at the auditions and also at the eviction stage of the competition.

 They competitors were taught for 71 days in the academy and during that competition she was placed on probation two times and the for the second time, all the remaining participants in the competition were put on probation  by the judges as the competition approached the semi-final. 

On the final day of the competition Wendy Kimani failed to win the top prize of Kenya Shillings 5million to other contestants like Esther Nabaasa, David and the eventual winner of the competition who was called Victor. 

In 2013, Wendy Kimani ventured into the music industry was able to release her first album that she named My Essence and she symbolised the album as ME. 

In 2014, Wendy Kimani alongside Lenana Kariba and Charles Kiarre joined the film industry and starred in a movie that was called Die Husband Die! The Film was based on a woman who was living in a loveless marriage with a man that she was married to. 

The man she got married was way older than her and she then later fell in love with another man who was younger. 

Wendy Kimani played as the woman who was living in that loveless relationship and Charles Kiarre acted as the older man who was the husband of the woman called Lynette. Lenana Kariba acted as the younger man.

 In May 2014, Wendy Kimani released a new song which was called Haiwi Haiwi and in that song she decided to feature one of the members of the SautiSol singing group who is called Bien Aime. 

This song was shot and then directed by MushKing. In 2014 in the month of November she released another single called Chali and the song was shot and it’s video was directed by Enos Olik. 

The song was fused with some old records and also has some jazz ballads within it. 

At the beginning of the year 2015, Wendy Kimani was featured in a new hit single that was recorded by an Israeli former ambassador who has been based in Kenya who is called Gilad Millo and the song is called Unajua. 

The song talks about two people who were once lovers and they are talking about their current love that has gone sour. 

The song became a very big hit song in Kenya and was being played all over the radio and Kenyan television stations throughout the year of 2015. 

In 2014, Wendy Kimani got married to her longtime boyfriend who is of a Dutch origin in a ceremony that was massively attended and held in Nairobi the capital city of Kenya.

 Wendy Kimani is one of the top Kenyan music artists and she continues inspire very many Kenyan youths that have plans to join the music industry.
