Ghafla.com is a Kenyan entertainment news and celebrity gossip website
that was founded by Samuel Majani in 2011.
The website has been ranked as one
of the biggest websites in Kenya. Samuel
Majani launched the website after being expelled from Jomo Kenyatta University
where he was a student.
Before launching
Ghafla.com, Samuel Majani launched a website that he called Kenyanlyrics.com
which was providing the lyrics of the songs that were being sang by Kenyan
music artists and but since he wanted the website to grow very fast, he decided
to introduce celebrity news on the menu and this attracted very many users to
his website.
After getting funding from the 88mph, he was able to grow the
website very fast and advertisers started flocking to his website.
In 2015, a
company called Ringier picked interest in the entertainment news website and
was offering to buy the website from it’s founder and his partners but the deal
did not work out and so Mr. Majani decided to move on with his idea.
He decided
to expand his entertainment website to accommodate news in East African
countries like Uganda, Tanzania, Rwanda and also added South Africa, Nigeria
and other international entertainment news on his website which continues to
grow very fast like never before.
His ambition now is to grow Ghafla into a big
company like Facebook and Google.
