The internet is having a very massive impact on the Ugandan society and
with the penetration of the mobile phones into our society, very many Ugandans
are beginning to start building blogs that are changing our internet landscape.
Today I would like to look at some of the blogs in Uganda that are standing out
from the crowd of blogs found in the Ugandan blogsphere.
Without much wasting your time my readers,
these are some of the top blogs in Uganda that are generating massive traffic
and visitors and which is a testimony that Ugandans are truly beginning to
embrace the digital space in a very good way.
This list has been complied without any order. Here is the list of blogs
that are making waves around the country.
1. Howwe.biz
This is one of the most visited websites in Uganda. Howwe.biz is an
entertainment news website and also a website where it’s users can also down
latest songs of Ugandan music artists.
This blog was started in early 2014 and
for the past four years it has grown on to become one of the most visited blogs
in Uganda.
The founder of the blog is called Busingye. The last time I checked
the traffic statistics of this blog, it was getting over a hundred thousand
page views per day and they have managed to place ads on their blog and should
be making some good money.
This blog has become popular for updating it’s
database quickly for the latest songs that have been released by Ugandan music
artists.
The design of the blog is very
good and it looks very professional and this also makes more people visit
it.
Apart from their users being able to
download the latest songs, the users can also be able to read celebrity gossip
about their favourite music artists and also national news which is mainly the
local political news happening around the country.
2.
Ugblizz.com
This is also one of the most visited blogs in Uganda and it is an
entertainment news website although the users of this website can also be able
to download the latest Ugandan music.
The readers are able to check out the
latest celebrity gossip for their favourite music artists in Uganda and also
some international celebrities.
According to easycounter.com, Ugblizz.com has
been getting over ten thousand pageviews per day. Some of the writers and
editors of this blog are Kiggundu, Sean Carter and others.
3. Bigeye.ug
This is an entertainment news website that was founded back in 2011 by
Ian Ortega and friends.
This blog has
been growing over the years and they have gained a lot of fans on social media.
At the time of writing this article, this blog has over 400,000 fans on their
facebook page.
The blog has been getting
thousands of page views per day. One time
it was ranked as the second most visited website in Uganda just after
monitor.co.ug.
They provide the latest celebrity news and gossip in the Ugandan
entertainment industry.
They also update their readers about the latest songs
and videos that have been released by Ugandan music artists.

Techjaja.com
This is one of the biggest technology blogs in Uganda. Techjaja.com was
founded in 2013 and it has continued to grow very fast.
This website provides
how to tutorials for technology enthusiasts, social media usage and it also
updates readers about what is happening in the world of technology around the
world.
Techjaja.com also looks at the technology trends that are happening in
Uganda.
The Ugandan innovators and investors and people who are passionate about
technology in Uganda, in addition they also do review some of the latest tech
gadgets like the latest smart phones released by tech companies like Apple,
Samsung and others.
This blog can be called the techcrunch.com of Uganda. This
blog has been getting thousands of page views per day and it continues to grow
each and every day.

Dignited.com
This is one of the top technology blogs in Uganda. The website has been
providing some how to hacks for the technology users and they also do reviews
for the latest gadgets like the latest smart phones and other technology
gadgets out there.
They do look at the social media platforms and also the
latest apps that technology companies like Facebook and Google have released
into the market.
This blog also has a question and answer platform where the
users ask question related to technology and then they are given answers about
their issues by some of the editors of the blog.
One of the writers of this
blog used to be Patricia Kahill but then she has since moved on to start up her
own blog and also company.

Pctechmag.com
This is a technology magazine that has been existing for a long period
of time in Uganda.
They first started by publishing magazines before venturing
into the online business. This is one of the biggest technology blogs in
Uganda.
This blog talks more about technology trends that are happening around
the world especially some of the latest technology gadgets that have been
released by the biggest tech companies in the world.
Pctechmag.com also looks
at the technology trends that are happening around African countries and also
the impact of social media in Africa.
This blog has been providing technology
hacks for its readers especially by reviewing the use of apps and how to
articles focused purely on technology.
This is the biggest travel blog in Uganda and it is surprisingly being
run by a non-ugandan from the country called Britain.
This travel blog was started by a wonderful
woman called Charlotte who is popularly called the Muzungu on her blog.
The
tagline of the blog is the diary of a Muzungu.
She started the blog after arriving in Uganda in 2008 as a volunteer and
fell in love with this country which is popularly called the Pearl of Africa.
For those of us out there who love travelling, you will enjoy this blog to the
maximum.
She has written articles about the tourist sites that are found in
Uganda and also the different activities that you can participate in as a
tourist in Uganda.
This blog has so many fans that she is always getting very
many comments about her blog posts.
She also writes about dating especially
interracial relationships and these posts have generated massive comments from
her readers.
Her blog also provides some
tips to the readers about travelling in Uganda and around East Africa.
This
blog profiles her travels around Uganda and also around East Africa. She
started blogging at a time when blogging was unheard of in Uganda and now she
is running one of the top blogs in Uganda.

This is also one of the top travel blogs that is being run by a Ugandan
woman.
She also started this blog
sometime back and has been writing about her travels around Uganda and also
East Africa at large.
Her blog talks about her adventures in the bushes, her
journeys on the waters around East Africa and also around Uganda.
Apart from
talking about travelling, she also sometimes discusses fashion on her blog
writing some blog posts about what women should wear and how they should take
care of their hair.
For the women out there, this is one blog that you should
be able to visit and enjoy.

This blog was started way back in 2010 by a woman called Patricia
Kahill.
She started this blog according to her as a result of her passion for
writing and also her curiosity drove her into blogging.
She says that she is
always driven by curiosity and that she is very passionate about social media
and marketing.
Her blog posts range from something about technology and also
some of the thoughts that do come out of her intelligent mind each and every
day.
Recently, she decided to launch her own company which she called Kahill
Insights Company limited and according to the links on her website, the
headquarters of the company are found in Kigowa in Ntinda.
Her company deals in
Gigs. She writes with a lot of passion although she takes long to update her
blog.
This is one of the top fashion blogs in Uganda and it is being run by a
woman called Grace Nafuna who calls herself Uganda’s number one fashion
blogger. Grace Nafuna has been running her blog since 2013.
She has been writing about the latest fashion
trends, analysing the clothes that have been worn by celebrities at different
social events around Kampala and also check out the outfits that have been worn
by international celebrities like Rihana, Beyonce among others.
Her blog is
cool but one thing letting us down is that she rarely updates her blog.

This is a technology blog that is being run by a Ugandan and it is also
one of the blogs that we should actually look out for.
The blog gives tips
about how to use technology to help improve our lives. His blog posts give tips
on how to use social media to promote your business, how to use Facebook and
twitter and many other tips.
They also do gadget reviews in their blog where
they talk about the features of the latest smartphones, cameras and even cars
that have been manufactured by companies like Toyota, Tesla and others. You
should check out this blog to get more.

This is one of the biggest fashion blogs in Uganda.
The blog gives tips
to people who are passionate about fashion about how to dress for different
occasions, tips about how to make your hairstyle look good, the kind of
hairstyle that is suitable for you and many other tips.
They will also check out what celebrities are
wearing and what they have put on for different occasions.
They also do look at the modelling industry
and how a person can become a model in Uganda. You will need to check out this

This is an entertainment news blog that provides the latest celebrity
gossip and even the events that people can attend.
The blog provides
information about your celebrities and also reviews the latest music videos and
songs that have been released by Ugandan music artists. It is one of the top
gossip blogs in Uganda.

Xclusiveug.co.ug
This is one of the oldest entertainment blogs that have been existing in
Uganda for a long time.
The blog provides entertainment news, celebrity gossip
and it also provides some articles about relationships and marriage.
They also do review the latest songs and
music videos that have been released by Ugandan music artists.

Hipipo.com
This is one of the first entertainment blogs that have ever existed in
Uganda.
The blog started back in 2006 but they decided to rebrand and become a
music portal.
This blog has since
stopped providing entertainment news and celebrity gossip and instead they are
focusing more as a website where their users can download the latest Ugandan
music and also music videos.
I think the owners of this blog got tired of
writing and just decided to try to simplify their life and make it easy.
If all factors were constant, this should be
one of the biggest blogs in Uganda today simply because they were the
trailblazers in the world of blogging in Uganda.

Bazanye.com
This is one of the first blogs in Uganda and it was started by veteran
Ugandan journalist Ernest Bazanye who is popularly known for his newspaper
column called Ernest Bazanye’s Bad idea.
Bazanye started his blog back in 2006
on the wordpress platform where he running on the free hosting platform and
then recently he decided to selfhost his blog and was able to acquire the
domain name called Bazanye.com.
His blog
is mostly about humour and writes lots of humour into it. He usually writes
about the current things that are taking place around Uganda but with lots of
humour.
His blog has been having lots of readers who do log onto his blog to
check out what he has to offer them.
He
is one of the oldest Ugandan bloggers since the blogging bug did hit Uganda.

RosebellKagumire.com
This blog is being run by a woman activist called Rosebell Kagumire who
is also a journalist and at the same time a blogger.
Rosebell Kagumire’s blog
focuses more on women activism and about empowering women and how our
government is looking down on women in Uganda.
Her blog was able to win an award for her efforts about women’s
rights. She has been running her blog
for a long time now.
Her blog is one
that you can visit but one thing that is bad for her blogging career is that
she does take long to update her blog.
The last time I checked, she did update
her blog back in 2016. Those are around two years since her last post. If you
want to be successful in the world of blogging, consistency is key.

Shillingsandcents.blogspot.com
This is a blog that is being run by a veteran journalist who is called
Paul Busharazi. His blog is focused on
the economy of our country called Uganda.
He does write some thought provoking articles about what is happening in
the economy and the impacts of those happenings to the ordinary Ugandan
population who are struggling everyday to find something to do.
You will likely find something about
corruption and it’s effects on service delivery in Uganda.
Visiting his blog
will show you how a veteran thinks about the way this country is being run by
the politicians and other leaders in this country.
His blog is one that Ugandans who are
passionate about the economy should visit although he does take long before
updating his blog.

This is a blog that brings latest political news and also analysis of
what is happening in the world of politics especially in Uganda.
This blog
started wayback in 2013 and has been running ever since that time. The blog has
become one of the most visited blogs in Uganda.
They have also started providing some
entertainment news to their readers.
The
blog focuses mostly on Ugandan political news and some news around East Africa. According to easycounter.com, the blog is
getting over 30,000 pageveiws per day.
20. Matooke
Republic.com
This started as a blog although right now it has become an online
newspaper. The blog has been providing the latest news, political analysis and
also some entertainment news to Ugandans.
The design of the website is very good and helps it to attract very many
readers.
The blog has been whistle blowing about the different happenings that
are taking place within the political circles in Uganda.
One time the Ugandan
Communications Commission had to send a warning to the editors of the blog for
being biased against the government.
This blog continues to shake the political
grounds of Uganda.

Softpower.ug
This is a political blog that has been providing the latest news to
Ugandans about politics and also other things that are happening around the
country.
The blog is written with a tone of no fear or favour and they have
been blasting bigwigs in the government and also in the army as they dig deep
into the issues of corruption and other things that are taking place in the
Ugandan government.

Insider.ug
This blog also has a lot of politics among it’s blog posts and they also
provide information about the latest happenings in the political atmosphere of
Uganda.
The writers also do an analysis on what actually did take place in the
Ugandan politics and they will give their opinions on what is supposed to be
done in order for the situation to become better.

in the Ugandan politics, this is one blog that you should not actually miss out
on.

This is a blog that is being run by the radio station called Galaxyfm.
This blog provides about the Ugandan music artists, celebrities and also the
latest news happenings around the country.

This is a news blog that provides the latest news and information to
Ugandans. The blog updates Ugandans about the things that are happening around
the country.
