In the world where we live in there is bound to be rejection and very
many people do face rejection every day.
Some people have been denied the opportunity to work at companies that
they do admire and value while others have been rejected by the partners after
they proposed to them.
If you are
undergoing rejection, the main thing that you should actually concentrate on is
how to respond to such rejections when they do occur and happen to you very
often.
When we get rejected, there is a
feeling of not being good enough that we do develop, when we are rejected we
feel like everyone around us thinks very little of us and they look at us like
failures.
Today, I would like to talk about how you can respond to rejection
when you do face it. Here is how you should respond when you are faced with the
power of rejection in your life.
1. Work on
your attitude
Facing rejection can be very dangerous to our attitudes and also our
general outlook on life as a whole.
If you truly want to become successful, you
will need to work on your attitude.
You might be rejected from a job or a
company might just refuse to hire you so that you can work for them but that
actually does not mean that you are not good enough or that you do not have the
skills.
What you will need at this point
in time is a positive attitude that will keep you going. When you go for an
interview and you are rejected, you should not start pleading with them.
The
best thing to do at that point in time is to move away and evaluate the
situation so that you will be able to find solutions for your weaknesses and
also work on them so that next time you are ready.
Believing that someday
things will get better will always keep you going and give you the positive
vibe to help you achieve the goals that you desire.
Keep a positive attitude
until the same people that said no to you want dangerously to work with you.
2. You should
develop the patience to wait for some years
Sometimes the biggest mistake we do make is to try to look at short term
rewards rather than the long term rewards.
In this world, anything which is
good and worthwhile is bound to take it’s time before it can give you the best
results.
It will take you time to move
from a nobody to somebody that everyone admires and wishes to be like.
The first thing you should do is to accept that
whatever you want to achieve in your life, your dreams and goals will take some
time and these may be years.
The moment you do accept the fact that it does
take years to achieve your dreams, it will force you to begin working
differently.
Trying to get things quickly will only force you to work for the
short term and hence you will end up forgetting about your long-term goals.
You
should take your time and know that taking things at a slow pace will get you
there someday.
3. You should
keep going irrespective of the obstacles
Sometimes when we are faced with challenges in life, all we need is the
courage to keep moving forward.
You should just keep doing whatever you are
doing. You could be a blogger and no one is reading your blog, you just need to
keep blogging and writing more articles.
With time someone somewhere will start
noticing you and they will begin admiring your work.
The only strategy that
will work in a situation where you are getting more rejections than approvals
is to keep doing what you do feel is fun and excitement and then in the long
run, you will be able to discover the details of your art or passion later and
may be you will get paid for your passion in the long run. Just like Johnny
Walker you have to just keep walking.
You should just keep doing the work even
when you are not getting any results that’s what it means to keep walking.
It
may take you several years for you to get what you want but the truth of the
matter is that eventually the odds will change and things will be alright. Good
luck with your dreams, keep walking.
