HOW TO TAKE A RIDE USING UBER IN UGANDA

Technology is changing very fast and our own country Uganda is not being left behind. Finally the ride sharing company Uber is here in Kampala and you can now start using to get from one place to another. 

I know there are very many people out there who are still wondering how this thing called Uber is actually working in Uganda. From today, you will not wait for the boda guy or even wait for taxis on the stage. 

Well, today I will help you learn how to get a ride in Uber as you go for those parties or if you are stuck at the club at mid-night, you could just take an Uber back home so that you do arrive home safely and very sound without any problems on the way. 

Without wasting much of your time, here are some of the steps you should follow in order to ensure that you can use an Uber in Uganda.

Here is how you can get an Uber ride right next to you

First things first, you must make sure that you actually do own a Smartphone. 

By a smart phone I do mean a phone that can access the internet and has at least a large screen, this could be an Iphone, Samsung, Itel or any other good brand out there.

Now that you do have a Smartphone in your hands, download the Uber app from the Google play store, Apple’s App store or even the Windows Store onto your Smart phone.

You should now set up your Uber app with your Visa card payment details. Now it is time for you to drop a pin on your location on the Uber map that is found in the Uber App. Now it is time for you to request for a ride. 

You will be able to see a car driving towards your location as it comes to give you a ride.  

You should ensure that you identify the driver of the car properly by just seeing his picture on your Smartphone. Ensure that you do send the picture of the Uber driver to your friend just for security purposes.

You can now identify the driver of the Uber car that is going to give you a ride as the Uber car approaches you.

 When the driver has accepted to give a ride, you should now endeavour to check his or her first name, his photograph, and also his or her license plate number. 

You will be able to see the rating of the driver which will enable you to find out if other users have had a very good experience with him or her during the rides. 

The driver of the Uber car will also know your ratings and also your first name. 

You can also be able to contact the driver through the Uber app if there is any confusion that springs up during the ride.

You can now share the details about your Uber ride

Now that you are taking the ride, you can now share more details about your Uber ride with your friends and family so that you are safe and they know where to find you in case of anything. 

You could share details like your expected arrival time and even the location where you will be arriving not forgetting the specific route that the Uber driver took.

Your friends and family will be able to receive a link where they will be able to see in real time the name and even the photo of the Uber driver. 

These details will include the vehicle plate number, where you are on the map until you do arrive to your destination. 

They are able to observe all these details without even downloading the Uber app. 

After the ride you just need to jump out of the car and be on your way to your destination.  So  go out there and start Using Uber to travel around Uganda.
