BIOGRAPHY- INSPIRING STORY OF DONJAZZY

Michael Collins Ajereh who is popularly known as Don Jazzy is a Nigerian music artist, singer, songwriter, music producer and also an entrepreneur who is the founder of the record label that was called Mo Hits back in 2004.

 Don Jazzy was born in Umuahia which is found in Abia State and he grew up in Lagos in a place called Ajegunle after he moved with his parents to Lagos in Nigeria. 

Don jazzy had his secondary school education at Federal Government College in Lagos. 

After completing his secondary school education, he joined Ambrose Ali University found in Ekpoma in Edo State where he obtained a Bachelors degree in Business management studies. 

DonJazzy gained interest in music at an early age and even began playing the bass guitar and then he became interested in traditional and percussion instruments. 

After completing his University education, Donjazzy left Nigeria and visited London. He went to London because he was invited by his uncle to go and play drums in the local church. 

While in London, Ajereh got a job as a security guard at MacDonalds. During his time in London, he gained interest in music artists like D’Banj, JJC, Kas, Solek and others. 

Ajereh learnt how produce music while at O-Town Company and his was taught by Emeka Infiniti. 

In 2004, alongside D’Banj, Ajereh started a record company called Mo’Hits Records and they managed to work on albums like No Long Thing and Rundown. This was the time when Ajereh developed an intro into his music projects called “It’s DonJazzy again!”. 

Ajereh has been producing vocals on the back ground for very many different music artists. He has produced for international music artists like KanyeWest, Beyonce and also Jay-Z. 

After falling out with D.Banj at the Mo’Hits records, Ajereh announced a new record label called Mavin records in 2012. 

After working at Mo’Hits for seven years, Don Jazzy was employed by Kanywest where he worked as one of his producers for some of his projects that later became a very big success. 

After some time, DonJazzy and D.Banj parted ways and Don Jazzy decided to announce in 2012 that he was starting up a new record company called Mavin Records and just a day after opening up his business, they released an album in which several music artists featured and they were also signed up onto the record company. 

The record label was a very big success and this attracted other international music artists like Jay-Z and Kanyewest who invited DonJazzy to work for them.

 Donjazzy remains a very big force in the Nigerian entertainment industry and he is one of the popular figures that most youths across the African continent actually do admire. He is a true inspiration to the youths out there planning to succeeed in life.
