The comedy industry in Uganda is growing steadily and fast like never
before. In the recent years, Ugandans have seen very many people join the world
of comedy and become the best in it.
The most common kinds of comedy in Uganda are
actually stand up comedy where the performers stand in front of their audience
and then they start cracking some jokes for them.
Today, I would like to look
at some of the most outstanding comedians in Uganda whose comedy has changed
the way their fans spend their time.
1. Patrick
Idringi Salvador
Patrick Idringi who is popularly known as Salvador is a Ugandan comedian
and Engineer who quit his job and decided to move into the world of comedy.
This talented Ugandan comedian has been very outstanding in his comedy career
that he has been able to win awards and even travel out of the country just to
perform his art in front of the very eager audience.
He continues to lift high the Ugandan comedy
industry and take it to the next level.
2. Kenneth
Kimuli aka Pablo
Kenneth Kimuli who is popularly known as Pablo is one of the pioneers of
the Ugandan comedy Industry where he introduced the Ugandan audience to stand
up comedy.
Over the years, this talented and hilarious comedian has headlined
very many events around Kampala and even out of the country through his art and
he has become one of the best in his art.
His jokes are exciting and will make very many people laugh off and
enjoy their time at different events.
3. Daniel
Omara
This is one comedian who is hilarious and he decided to leave his
education career to venture into the world of comedy and now it is actually
paying off very well.
Daniel Omara has jokes that will make you feel like he
should stay with you for the rest of your life. This is simply because his
jokes are very good and fantastic and you will wish to have him continue to
crack jokes or you.
4. Hebert
Segujja aka Mr. President
Hebert Segujja who is known as Mr. President is a very good comedian who
has even been appreciated by the Ugandan president Yoweri Kaguta Museveni.
Herbert Segujja is a teacher by profession but now he turned to comedy and
now it is paying off in large sums.
This
popular Ugandan comedian who is fond of imitating the Ugandan president has
been able to attend very many functions where the president has been the chief
guest for his talent. He is one of the best comedians that Uganda has to offer.
5. Ann
Kansiime
Ann Kansiime who comes from the western part of Uganda has taken the
Ugandan comedy industry to the next level.
She is fond of performing skit comedy that has gathered a lot of fans
for her on YouTube and also around the world. Her comedy has taken her to
various places around the world.
She is one of the well known Ugandan comedians
in the world. She has travelled to Europe, The United States of America and
other places around Africa just to perform her comedy.
6. Cotilda
She is one woman whose comedy has also been liked by the Ugandan
audience. This woman from the northern part of Uganda has been among some of
the women who have taken comedy to the next level and now her comedy is paying
off.
Cotilda is known for performing her stand up comedy although some of her
comedy is obscene, it still makes her fans laugh and enjoy the art. She is one
of the women who are representing Uganda in the comedy industry.
7. Amooti
Obanguzi
He is one of the veterans of the comedy industry in Uganda and he has
been the pioneers of comedy even before it actually became mainstream as it is
today.
He formed a comedy group called Amarula Family in the early 1990s and
then from there they started performing comedy skits in various places around
Kampala and even other parts of the country.
Today he is still in the world of
comedy and it is paying off for him in large sums.
8. Mad rat
and Chicco
These are two comedians who are very good at what they are doing and
love their job. Mad rat and Chicco combination on the comedy stage will make
any audience want more out of them.
They are very good comedians who are
changing the face of comedy in Uganda. They mostly perform skit comedy and make
their fans have some fun.
9. Afande
KereKere
He is one of the top comedians in Uganda who has been able to get very
many deals out of the world of comedy. Apart from performing in front of very
many crowds, he has been able to land jobs at television stations and radio
stations.
That is the beauty of having lots of humour and it was taken him in
some good places.
As a result of his good humour, he has been able to land a
job at Bukedde television and also some other radio station.
10. Veronica
Tindi
She is one of the veterans in the world of comedy who have been able to represent
the women in the industry positively.
Her comedy is very interesting and lovely
and will make everyone laugh when she performs it.
11. Dr. T
AMALE
This comedian is fond of imitating the television commentator and
presidential advisor Tamale Mirundi in his comedy skits and he is fond of
mimicking whatever he does and on top of that he adds something different to it
that makes it very interesting.
As a result of his humour, he has managed to
land a job on a television station called BBS where he is making some good
amounts of income while performing in various places around Kampala.
These are
some of the top comedians in Uganda who have taken the comedy to the next level
and since there are very many youths in Uganda out there who are looking
forward to becoming great comedians, they can learn some great lessons from
these people above so that they can achieve their goals.
