Amos Nzeyi rose from nothing to something great in this great country called the pearl of Africa.  Amos Nzeyi was born in Kabale district which is found in the western part of Uganda. Amos ventured into business at early age having been born in a poor family, he decided to start   helping himself by selling eggs to primary schools and teachers.

From the money that he earned from the sale of eggs, he started making mandazi that he sold and since this business was profitable, he used the proceeds from the business to help finance his primary school education.

He had his formal education up to secondary school level and after that he decided to go for apprenticeship training in Isreali where he gained some skills in construction industry especially the building of roads.

After his secondary school education he worked at a road construction site between Ntungamo district and Kabale district for three years which is found in the western region of Uganda. This tender was worn by an Isreali company called WRD and therefore he worked with these people on the construction project.

The company was constructing a tarmac road and Amos was employed there as a spanner boy. Amos worked hard at the company and he was later promoted into higher ranks within the company.

They worked on very many different construction projects in the central and western regions of Uganda. After working for some years, Amos had saved enough money and therefore he decided to venture into business on his own.

He left his job and went and bought a pickup which he used to deliver goods to different schools.

As he was busy doing his business of supplying goods to western Uganda, he discovered a Timber mill in the western region of Uganda where the owner had actually failed to find market for it and so he decided to use his pickup to pack up the timber and transport it to Kampala where he actually found ready market for it.

During this time there was a boom in the construction industry in Kampala and so Amos started supplying timber to people who were building in Kampala.

He became the biggest supplier of timber to Kampala during that time and was even able to supply timber to National Housing and Construction Corporation.

As his timber business grew he got in touch with Madhivan Group of Companies Chillington Tool Company whereby he started buying commodities from the companies and supplying them to the shops in the western part of Uganda.

As his businesses grew, Amos Nzeyi decided to venture into sports whereby he started participating in the Motor Rally activities where he became very famous for winning the OAU Rally in which the participants came from various countries like Uganda, Sudan, Rwanda and Kenya with the exception of Tanzania as a result of the bad relationship between these countries and itself at the time.

Amos Nzeyi was very excited about winning that Rally and the trophy from the competition was actually a car that was donated to the Uganda Motor Club by the then president Idi Amin.

He was one time arrested by the notorious soldiers of the former President Idi Amin who asked him about how he actually obtained the car that he actually possessed but to his surprise he was saved by one of his classmates who worked in the army during that time he was called Jackson Kyarikunda who got his statement and help in releasing him.

After this bitter experience Amos decided to shift to Kenya in Nairobi where he moved with all his trucks and also his family members. He then came back to Uganda and continued to carry out his business using some trucks that he usually hired for business.

When the situation in Uganda worsened during the era of  Idi Amin Amos Nzeyi decided to go into exile in Kenya for some good time and while in Kenya ventured into the transport business where he used to carry goods from the Kenyan port of Mombasa through Uganda  to Rwanda and Democratic republic of Congo which formerly known as  Zaire.

Amos Nzeyi acquired a contract with a Belgium firm called Transintra where they were transporting goods to South Africa and their fleet of trailers grew to over 60. In 1983 he sold his shares in the business and moved his family to the UK where he wanted to take care of his son.

When he returned to Uganda, he started a bakery and since during that time all the bread was actually coming from Kenya and he therefore started Hot loaf limited. Hot loaf today is one of the biggest bakeries in Uganda.

He later got a franchise and started bottling up Pepsi products under the Crown Beverages limited.

Crown beverages is currently the market leader in the beverage industry. Amos Nzeyi is an inspiration to all the unemployed youths out there who are looking for away out of unemployment. Start from where you are.
