KAYIHURA TAKEN TO COURT BY POLICE OFFICER

After leaving the police force, the former Inspector General of Police, Kale Kayihura is having sleepless nights after a police officer has sued him for denying him from retiring from the police force.

Nelson Mugasa who was the OC CID for the Kyambogo University police station said that Kale Kayihura denied his resignation yet he had political ambitions at the time that he wanted to fulfill.

The police officer said that at the time he wanted to contest for the parliamentary seat for Tingenyi County which is found in Kapchorwa district in the year 2016.

According to Nelson, Kayihura’s actions were unconstitutional, unlawful and amounted to abuse of office and that they were intended to deprive him of his constitutional rights, and fundamental rights to participate in the governance of this country.

The police officer now seeks damages through his lawyers who are led by Abdallah Kiwanuka from Kayihura for both financial loss and psychological torture  that he suffered under the police boss.
