BETTY KAMYA SUMMONED BY COURT OVER LUKWAGO’S DUTIES

The Kampala highcourt has summoned Betty Kamya who is the minister of Kampala City Council Authority for interfering into the duties of the Lord Mayor Erias Lukwago.

According to reports, the court has ordered Betty Olive Kamya to appear for cross-examination for interfering with the duties and making the Lord Mayor redundant.

The Judge has ordered both parties to find an amicable way of sorting out their differences  by appointing a mediator and also warned that failure for that to happen, the court will take the case to it’s full conclusion.

According to Lukwago, he has written very many requests to the Minister to attend executive meetings so that they can resolve their issues amicably but the minister has never surfaced.

According to KCCA Act section 2, the executive powers and political powers of the city belong to the Lord Mayor and this according to Lukwago has been violated by the Minister.
