THE INSPIRING STORY OF DAVID LUTALO

David Lutalo commonly known as Lutalo is a Ugandan music artist, singer, vocalist and songwriter. 

David Lutalo was born in Luweero district which is one of the many districts in Uganda. David Lutaalo had his early primary education and proceeded with his education up to senior four  where he obtained Uganda certificate of education (UCE) and  since his parents could not afford furthering his education, Lutalo decided to drop out of school and try his luck in music.

 During his time in school Lutalo had already started writing songs though he could not record them at the time since he did not have the money to do so. 

Lutalo had passion for music and since he was willing to venture into the music business, he decided to venture into charcoal burning in order to raise enough money to record his first song.  

The studio he went to charged 60,000 Ugandan shillings to record a song which is about $20 but Lutalo could only raise 10,000 shillings which is about $4.  

He decided to enter into a negotiation deal with the manager of the studio until they agreed that he would pay the remaining amount of money in instalments until he had completed the whole payment. 

From those humble small beginnings, Lutalo was able to capture the Ugandan audience and release hit after hit like never before. 

He once said during an interview on Capital Radio that it was tough in the beginning especially for him to introduce his music to the audience this was because the radio stations he took his music to were sometimes rejecting it. 

He says with time some radio stations and television stations began accepting his music and people started supporting him by requesting his music on television shows and radio shows that is how his music career took off. He was then invited to different events and shows.  

When he gained enough popularity among the Ugandan audience, he started organising concerts which sold out.  

Due to his popularity, David Lutalo has been approached by big brands to help market their products and among these are Africell which has signed a huge contract with this popular music artist from Luweero. 

David Lutalo is a big inspiration to the young people especially the youths who are trying to find their footprint in the music industry in Uganda.

 Lutalo continues to rule the Ugandan airwaves both on radio and television stations and has appeared on so many interviews on both radio and television stations.
