The Chinese government
has banned hiphop culture and tattoos from appearing on television programmes.
This
is because the country now considers the hiphop culture to be vulgar and
tasteless. The order was given by China’s State Media Regulator  for Radio, Film and Publications.
According
to the statement  media houses are not
supposed to use actors whose  heart and
morality are not aligned with those of the party.
The statement also requires
that programmes should not feature actors that have tattoos. The ban follows
the removal of prominent Chinese artist and rapper GAI from  Hunan TV’s singer hit competition show  Clips of
GAI.
