WHO IS SAMUEL MAJANI?
Samuel Majani is the founder and the Chief Executive Officer
of the popular Kenyan entertainment website called Ghafla Entertainment which
Kenya’s largest blog and the 4th largest local website in Kenya
according to Alexa.com.
Before starting Ghafla, Samuel Majani also built the
biggest lyrics website in Kenya that was called Kenyanlyrics.com; he later
rebranded the website to Ghafla. He is a fulltime blogger and he is also called
Mr. Janitor or Mista Majani as a writer on Ghafla.
Samuel Majani started Ghafla
website after receiving a venture funding from the IPO48 investor event that
was held in 2011 where he received a venture fund of 2.5 million Kenyan
shillings from 88mph investment firm. In late 2011, Samuel Majani launched
Ghafla becoming the first CEO of the company and growing its traffic at a
phenomenal rate like never before.
The traffic exploded to the extent that they
started getting advertisers.
Samuel Majani attended JomoKenyatta University
(JKUAT) where he was pursuing a degree in Electronics and Computer Engineering
but unfortunately he was discontinued after failing some course units in 2009 and
he therefore decided to take the path of entrepreneurship, hence launching
Ghafla.
Recently, Ghafla received an
offer of being bought by a company called Ringier.Samuel Majani is an
inspiration to all the youths out there for whom formal education has not
worked out but are willing to become successful in life.
