UGANDANS ON THE DEATH OF SEBAANA KIZITO, THE POLITICAL ICON AND ENTREPRENEUR

The death of Sebaana Kizito the former Kampala city mayor has shocked the patriotic Ugandans with a wave that cannot be described by any person who has never lived in this lovely city.  

Unlike the recent political bigwigs we have today, This political icon is one man who has beaten all the odds to come out to passionately serve his nation and people like never before. 

Apart from being a political icon that put his country’s interest first before his selfish interests, he has also shown that it is possible to obtain and make good money through hard work. 

He managed to become a successful entrepreneur running businesses like insurance, real-estate among others.

 In Uganda today where people go into politics so that they can acquire wealth, Sebaana Kizito went into politics to serve Ugandans.

 It is clear that by the time he joined politics, this man was already wealthy and   generous. 

There are very few politicians who still existed with the same character and principles like Sebaana Kizito but I can sadly say I think that generation of politicians is disappearing from the Ugandan landscape and instead they are being replaced by people who are greedy and hungry. 

They dress up like people who want to serve but as soon as they enter the Parliamentary buildings, they start expressing their true characters and what truly defines them that is filling their own stomachs. 

One of the great lessons I learnt from the life of Sebaana Kizito is that hard work and being diligent pays, he has managed built businesses and also lead people well. 

With the many cracks that are developing in the Democratic Party, lets hope the party that he dearly loved will not go away with him. 

The Fracas that ensued at his place of residence during the celebration of his life at Kansanga in Kampala is clear evidence that there is more to come after his demise.  

Ugandans should learn that politics is for service, people should join politics to serve their people not to enrich their individual pockets, and this is another great lesson we can learn from this great political icon.

 With the growing number of corrupt government officials around  the country it is very difficult to say who can be a great example to us like this man.
