The cost of living has increased drastically and no one can save us from it,not even the government.
Truth be told we need money to put a roof over our heads, to feed our empty stomachs and also to put clothes on our backs.
And therefore, there is no running away from it money is important in our lives.
But if you have no money in your pocket and you have huge bills to pay, it means all your attention and mind will be wholly occupied by the thought how can I get it now instead of doing something else.
Under such conditions you feel stressed and you are unable to do anything or even have any other thoughts. It is a terrible situation that a person can be in.
This is what I would call financial stress.
Today, I will share with you some tips that I hope will help you to overcome financial stress in your life.
1.Keep your expenses low.
One of the best ways to survive financial stress in the modern day is to keep our expenses low.
For example if you can live on 1000 dollars per month, you are way better off than someone who needs 10,000 dollars per month to pay his monthly bills.
This person could be having high utility bills like water, electricity, entertainment, transportation, all waiting to be paid.
And when the economy misbehaves like what happened during the COVID-19 pandemic where many people lost their jobs, this person will be left with nothing but a lot of debt and stress.
2.Build a financial safety net that can last months.
When you have savings at your disposal that can last months, you are ready for any terrible financial situation that could happen.
Be it losing your job or a situation like the COVID-19 pandemic that recently happened.
You can be able to survive on those savings even without working for long periods of time until the conditions become better.
Without savings, you are doomed and ready for stress and more headache about your finances as the bills pile up.
3.Focus on the things you can control.
There are a lot things as human beings that are out of our control most especially when it comes to finances.
We cannot control the rise and fall of the stock market or even be able to predict when the next inflation will happen.
All these things affect our financial well being and can leave us stressed and depressed.
The only things that we should focus on are the things that we can control.
For me I would prefer focusing on my own financial well being and avoid the noise being made by the news channels and media who are busy predicting a financial doom ahead of us.
If my finances are sorted, I have nothing to fear about the coming financial doom.
4.Focus on the next two months.
In the world we live in today, life can be unpredictable very unpredictable and therefore if you try to focus far into the future, you will end up with lots of stress and depression.
The best way I have found to fight this kind of confusion is to focus on only the next two months.
If in the next two months, Iam able to save some money and also pay for my needs then am okay.
And then I plan for the next two months ahead. That way life looks easier and better.
5.It has worked out in the past and will work in the future.
In life we should all have some kind of optimism in our lives. We should always hope that things will work out for the better.
Since we have lived up to this time and have survived the inflations and market crushes, we should hope that things will be better for us.
No matter how bad the financial situation can be let us hope that we shall survive the storms and swim to the other side of life.
I hope these tips will help you to escape the financial stress in our lives. Good luck.
