HOW TO LOVE YOURSELF

Recently i listened to a song about showing  love to yourself that was done by a music artist called Demarco. This song made me think about what it means to love yourself. 

And also the society that we live in has put in us a e culture of showing love to other people around us and we forget to love ourselves. 

 

Today i would like to share with you my thoughts about what it means to actually love yourself. What does it actually mean to love yourself? 

Many people out there interprete loving yourself as only taking care of your body. What they actually mean by taking care of your body is  that they dress well, showering everyday and get very good haircuts.

 But the truth is that loving yourself is more than just those things. According to my own opinions, taking care of yourself can be more than all these things. 

1. Using drugs and alcohol

If you love yourself, you will not use drugs. Taking marijuana, cocaine, cigarette smoking, alcohol and many other drugs shows clearly that you actually do not love yourself. People who love themselves do not use drugs, neither do they take alcohol. 

They know that drinking alcohol and using drugs will affect them in the long-term, it will play with their sense of judgment when they are drunk . 

They will make unpleasant decisions like sleeping with women without having any protection, some people might engage in unnecessary fights resulting in injuries. 

 Some drugs will affect their internal organs and cause damage to them and making them fall sick and they might unfortunately lose their lives.

 You might think that drugs will do the magic to get you out of your troubles but the fact is that they will make your condition worse. If you love yourself you will avoid drugs and better still quit groups that use drugs.

2. Save money and build investments

If you love yourself, you will save money and build investments to make your future financially okay. Most people will spend all that they have earned. 

Some even buy things that they do not need or use. When you spend all your money, you are actually making other people rich and becoming poor. 

It simply means that you value other people more than you. If you cannot keep apart of what you earn for yourself, then it simply means that you do not love yourself. 

People who love themselves will save money for a rainy day simply because they love themselves and .care about their financial future. If you love yourself, you will build investments for yourself or at least invest in yourself. 

3. Self expression and following your passions

When you love yourself, you will be free to express yourself and also follow your passions. 

You will compose and record songs if you love music, write blog posts and create art and do many other things that you love. 

Even if people around you tell you that you are not good at those things, that you should not do them. You will follow your heart and do them.  

Self expression and creativity is away to show love to yourself.  Do the things you love even if people try to put you down.

Life is too short, love yourself and Good luck.
