Do you have some possessions or belongings that you would love to hold onto even when you are at the verge of losing them?
Most people i know have things that they have gotten attached to and would not want lose that possession even if they were at the verge of losing their life.
A friend of mine recently confessed to me that he cannot imagine his life without his brand new Range Rover sport vehicle that he recently acquired.
He said that he would rather lose his life than hand over his precious vehicle.
Now that is what i would call materialism. Most people i know have been held captive by the desire to have as many possessions as possible.
But the truth of the matter is that when you leave this world, you will go empty handed and will not be able to carry even a needle with you into the grave.
The spiritual world that we are transformed into after our death does not deal with the physical possessions that we do have.
All the cars, the apartments, the toys, and even the women that you are dating now will not go with you. You will leave them all here and people that you have left behind will be enjoying all those possessions when you are actually long gone.
You should turn your attention away from the materialism that has engulfed the world and instead focus your attention on building experiences that will be in your memory for years and years to come.
You will enjoy those experiences and be grateful for them instead of worrying about what you own and whether your assets are actually secure or not?
What experiences would you love to enjoy now? Don't you think it will be fun for you to enjoy those experiences?
How would you love to experience romance with a woman you have always had a crush on? Those kisses, the hugs and the smooches are more precious than holding onto that car or apartment.
You will remember how you were kissed, or hugged or smooched by the woman you love all more than the apartment you owned when you are on your death bed.
So therefore i urge you to enjoy the experiences when you still have the time to instead of getting stuck with trying to acquire more and more possessions.
Yes, it is absolutely true we need those possessions especially to help pay our living expenses but they should not become part of our most treasured assets in our life.
Because the truth is all this can disappear in thin air. What if you lost all your assets and possessions, what would you be left with?
You will most likely be left with experiences and may be the friends that you have and the memories that you shared together.
All i urge you to do is build yourself great memories and stories, experiences that you will love and live to remember all the time.
Those are precious and priceless. More than any asset like a car or an apartment that you will ever own.
You should not be afraid to lose your assets, if you are to lose the house that you sleep in, just let it go, and even the car itself can just go and leave you there with your great memories.
Even if it means taking away all your clothes and leaving naked, you can at least pluck off some leaves and cover yourself up but start doing things that can help you build great memories.
Stop holding onto possessions especially if you are at crossroads, let the possessions go but keep the memories and you will have no regrets.
