Choosing leaders is one of our duties as citizens of our respective countries in a democratic society. In many parts of the world, elections are taking place especially in the United States where we see President Donald Trump and Candidate Joe Biden hunting for votes in various states of the country.
The atmosphere has been charged with politics and everyone is thinking in a political way, looking for points that can swing the votes their way.
In the United States we see Donald Trump calling on his base of supporters to believe in him despite the slow down in the American economy as a result of the Corona virus pandemic and people losing jobs all with it.
We do not know about the wall that he proposed would be built when he is voted into power back in the year 2016 and the immigration issues along with it.
The shootings by the American police that have ravaged the country especially the popular ones like the one of George Floyd that motivated and brought into picture the Black Lives Matter movement and also the one that took place recently in Wisconsin of a black man called Blake could bring Trump's presidency into question.
Will Donald Trump return back to the White House? We are yet to see and find out.
On the other hand Joe Biden is riding high and hoping to be an alternative to the current president and all the mess that is around him while in White House.
Returning to my home country, Uganda, we see a powerful movement of youths who are seeking for a change in leadership.
The popular people power movement who have been known for wearing the red berre for their symbolism are taking the poitical atmosphere by storm and charging it up before the upcoming 2021 elections.
President Museveni aka Bosco's attention has been attracted into the frenzy and he truly sees Kyagulanyi Sentamu or Bobiwine who is the proclaimed leader of the People power movement as his opponent in the upcoming elections and is borrowing Donald Trump's habits of using Twitter to share his messages with his supporters across the country.
With the Corona virus pandemic leaving many Ugandans in a financially terrible state and others jobless, we are yet to see if Ugandans will vote on issues or some will just seek for money to fill their pockets and caring less about their future.
Who will win the elections? We are yet to find out, keep your eyes wide open and ears wide open too.
