Popular Kenyan music group Sauti Soul have confessed that they were one time conned by a private Congolese promoter who promised to pay them 1 million Kenyan shillings if they agreed to perform at a place called Goma in the Democratic Republic of Congo.
According to the lead singer of the group Bien Baraza, they first went and performed in Goma in Congo for a show that sold out as the place was fully packed and then the next time they were invited by this promoter who booked them into a hotel without paying for the rooms and when they asked for food, they were told the promoter had to pay first.
Then when time for the show came, the promoter told them that he would pay them the next day before they left for Nairobi but he disappeared that morning. They left empty handed.
