Jawed Karim is an Internet entrepreneur and also an American computer scientist who is popularly known for being one of the co-founders of the popular video streaming service called Youtube which is now owned by Google after it was bought for 1.65 billion dollars.
Jawed Karim was born on the 28th of october in the year 1979 in a place called Merseburg which is located in Germany.
His father is from Barngladesh and his mother is from Germany. He was the eldest of his siblings and Karim moved with his family in the early days of the 1980 as a result of Xenophobia that was rampant at that time.
Karim studied at Saint-Paul High School where he completed his secondary school education and later proceeded to the University of Illinois Urbana-Champaign where he was stationed in the department of computer science.
Karim later left the University before graduating although he continued to do the courseworks and started working at Paypal as one of the early employees of the company at the time. He later managed to graduate with a Bachelors degree in Computer science.
After completing his Bachelors degree, Jawed Karim later joined Stanford University where he graduated with a Masters degree in computer science.
In the year 1998, Jawed Karim did an internship at a place called Silicon Graphic inc. where he was working as a 3D voxel data management for very large data sets that at the time were being used for volume rendering this also included the data for the visible human project.
After the sale of Paypal, he started working on Youtube with a few friends with whom he had worked with at PayPal and they together created the video sharing platform called Youtube.com.
After the sale of Youtube to Google, Jawed embarked on a new startup venture called YoUniversityVentures which was to help fund startups of students at university.
Jaweed Karim is an inspiration to all the youths out there that it is possible to achieve your dreams if you do work hard at it.
