Most people believe that in order for you to achieve success in life, you must attend school and obtain atleast a diploma or a degree that can help you land a well paying job.
This traditional way of thinking it seems is beginning to be seen in doubt as we have seen over the years that several college dropouts have achieved extreme success in their field of choice.
From the likes of Mark Zuckerberg, Bill Gates, Micheal Dell, Steve Jobs and many others we have now been convinced that dropping out of school is not actually suicide mission but things can actually turn out for the best.
Today i would like to look at some of the top reasons why these college dropouts became very successful.
1. A college dropout doesnot have any other plan
When you have dropped out of school and you do not have a degree or a diploma to run back to, all you have to do is to just keep pushing yourself harder and i strongl believe that's what all of these successful college dropouts did.
Knowing that there is no fall back plan, they kept pushing themselves harder and working day and night on their ventures until they achieved success.
2. College dropouts start early
One reason why these dropouts achieved extreme success is because they dropped out early and instead of going to class, they started working on their ventures and so by the time their friends left college, they had achieved some level of success and were fully established in their chosen field.
Most of these college dropouts had about 3 years of experience in the real world ahead of their college graduate friends.
3. College dropouts have few fears and little expectation out of life
People have very low expectations of the college dropouts than college graduates with degrees and masters.
Most people believe that the moment you have dropped out of college, you end waiting tables at a restaurant or just end up working at a laundry or picking up dustbin for others.
While college graduates expect to land high paying jobs in large corporations accompanied with social security all waiting for them but all this comes with the huge loans that they accumulate at college.
Under these circumstances, college dropouts develop a thickskin and are actually able to pick themselves up faster when they are faced with failure.
4. College dropouts keep learning after dropping out of college
The truth is there are many college dropouts who ended up as failures but the successful college dropouts are the ones who keep learning even when they left formal schooling.
They embraced self-directed learning instead of waiting around for a professor or teacher to come and give them a push to their destiny.
5. College dropouts are hungry for success
In a 2005 commencement speech given by Steve Jobs at Stanford, he said that hunger pushed him to success and this was the hunger to learn things that pushed him to the top.
According to John Mayer, he loved imitating his rock legends and also loved studying their body movements after school.
The stories of successful college dropouts from Havard, Stanford and other Universities show how ambition and grit can lead to extraordinary success.
It doesnot matter how many times you fail but what matters is how many times to rise up after you have failed.
The successful college dropouts were smart enough to make calculated decisions and also realize that their ventures were going to pay off in a bigger way more than the Havard or Stanford degree.
