One of the dishes that people to enjoy in East Africa, most especially in Kenya is called Masala chips and in this dish today, i will be focusing on taking this ordinary chips recipe to a whole new level that can bring out a nice taste altogether.
The masala will help in coating the chips in a perfect way which gives them a spicy and saucy look altogether.
Ingredients
- Potatoes that have been cut lengthwise and double fried for 3 to 4 minutes.
- 3 tomatoes
- One table spoon of oil
- One large lengthwise sliced Onion
- 2 cloves of minced garlic
- 2 chopped green chillies
- One tablespoon of tomato paste
-Salt to taste
- Freshly ground black pepper
- A half tablespoon of chilli powder
- Chopped coriander leaves
Procedure
1. In a bowl, pour some oil and add onions into it and allow it to fry until the onions have turned translucent.
2. Add the green chillies and the garlic before allowing it to cook for about 30 seconds.
3. Add the chilli powder, tomato paste, tomatoes, pepper, salt and then allow the mixture to cook for 4 to 5 minutes.
4. Now add the fried chips and stir them before garnishing with the coriander leaves.
