Sandra Nankoma who was earlier on known as Sandy Soul is a Ugandan music artist, singer, songwriter, actress and also a performer afrosoul and Jazz music.
Sandra Nankoma was born on the 27th of November in the year 1988 in the central region of Uganda in Mukono district.
Sandra Nankoma studied at Uganda Christian University (UCU) which is located in Mukono district where she successfully graduated with a Bachelors degree in Industrial Fine Art and Design while majoring in Sculpture.
Sandra Nankoma started singing when she was young and at school she became a member of the school choir which as responsible for fellowship and praise and worship.
After joining the school choir, Sandra Nankoma assumed the leadership position of the Scripture Union at the school and she worked as the leader of the Union for two solid years.
In 2013, Sandra Nankoma decided to start doing music professionally and in that year she was one of the music artists who performed at the Bayimba festival of Arts.
During her performance, she was joined by a hiphop artist called Slyvester Kabombo with whom they performed a collaboration song called Fumbiro which is a hiphop song.
Sandra Nankoma has collaborated with very many other music artists like Susan Kerunen, Jackie Akello, Slyvester and several other music artists.
Due to her musical success, she has performed in very many festivals like the Bayimba festival of Arts, Masa festival that is organised in Ivory coast, Milege World Music festival, World Music day celebrations and many others.
In the year 2014, Sandra Nankoma decided to start her own music band that she called Sandy Soul.
With her band, Sandra Nankoma toured very many cities around Africa and the world and among some of these cities were Kigali, Nairobi,Arusha, Abdijan, she also one time appeared in Paris in France.
In 2018, Sandra Nankoma worked on her first album which she called Yenze. The album was recorded and also mastered in Uganda and also France.
In the year 2018, her song called Kaddugala which is like an anthem for black girls was nominated in the AFRIMA awards and it helped her win the award.
She emerged as the best Female Artist in African Inspirational Music for the year 2018 at the AFRIMA awards. Sandra Nankoma has also ventured into acting and she has been able to appear in very many theatre plays and musicals.
She alongside with her partners started a group called Afroman spice which is a drama group that is focused on feminism. Some of her partners during the founding of the group were Linda Nabasa, Rashida Namulondo.
Sandra Nankoma has put up a strong campaign for the fight against racism given the fact that while still young, she was bullied while at school for being a dark skinned girl.
Her song called Kaddugala is like an anthem for the black girls and women out there who are going through racial discrimination.
Sandra Nankoma is an inspiration to all the youths especially the young girls out there that it is possible to achieve your dreams if you work hard at them.
